Description: Three logo designs/ ideas for the company Four Eyes
Optomintry
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): The first thing I did was thought
of a concept, then I sketched it out. After choosing my final designs I began the process in Illustrator. To create the first logo I
used to ellipse tool and then used the convert anchor point tool
to make the circle pointy like an eyeball. From there, I used a gradient to give the design a futuristic feel. Next, I used the rounded
rectangle tool to create the reading chart from the doctors office.
This took the longest because I had to go back and shrink the text
to make it look realistic. Finally, I used the ellipse tool to create
my last design. It is made up of four major circles and two circle
that were turned into rectangles. To make the lenses I put gray and
black borders around the circles in the inside.
Message: Four eyes are better than two!
Audience: Glasses wearers
Top Thing Learned:

Description: New logo for matching business cards
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I created the new logo using the Adobe Illustrator program. I used the ellipse tool to create the main shape and after adjusting with the convert anchor point tool, I changed the style of the stroke and the
thickness. I wanted it to look as if it were drawn with an ink pen. Next I opened a
text box and typed the number four and then traced it with the pen tool so that
I could place it inside the pupil of my eye. I needed the style and stroke to be the
same so that It would be clear once I cut the tracing out of the pupil.
Second, I created my business cards using Adobe Indesign. I will admit, at first it
was frustrating because I couldnt find a style or color scheme that matched and
I liked. I started over four times. The first thing I did was create two small rectangles with the rectangle two. From there, I went on and made text boxes for my
contact information, name and company name and proceeded to give them corresponding font styles. After I had everything placed I chose my color scheme, I added it to two additional rectangles and also in some of my text for emphasis.I then,
placed my logo into my design and cleaned everything up using the wand tool. Next
I copy and pasted my decorative green rectangles into my second card and placed
my logo in a watermark style so that clients can see their appointment times. I added a thin black border to show where my business cards end.
Message: Four Eyes Optometry is family friendly and welcomes all.
Audience: Anyone that wears contact, glasses or in need or eye-surgery.
Top Thing Learned: You need to expand your artwork in Illustrator and export
it before you place it in Indesign because it will not transfer over properly and
will be distorted.
Color scheme and color names: Monochromatic, Green

Description: I set up another blank document inside the Adobe Indesign program. I copy and pasted my texts, colors and decorative rectangles over to my
stationery page. All of them had to be enlarged to fit the full length of the
page. The last thing I did was place an enlarged version of my logo and changed
its opacity to 5% and turned it into a watermark.

Audience: Anyone that wears contact, glasses or in need or eye-surgery.

Description: A website that I created to display my logo and company
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):The program that I used to
crete this website is TextWrangler. Honestly, it was the most
frustrating thing that I have ever done. The first thing that I did
was type everything that I needed in my HTML code in Microsoft
Word, this helped me stay organized. After I typed the path I copy
and pasted the sentences in. After linking my logo, I entered my
code into http://www.W3.org where it would tell you whether
or not your code was correct. When all of my errors were corrected I downloaded and linked the CSS file to my HTML code. I
wanted my webpage to stay consistent with my current projects
for the logos because they are for the same company. Using the
CSS file I was able to change my text styles, spacing and colors.
I downloaded a textured background from the internet and used
Photoshop to select border, background and font colors using
the eyedropper tool.
Message: Four Eyes Optometry is family-friendly but still takes
their business seriously.
Audience: Current and future clients.
Top Thing Learned: In order to update the HTML in the browser
you need to save the code with every change. I kept forgetting
and got super frustrated.

you scroll over the text inside they change colors.

Description: An interactive and personal brochure for the company Four
Eyes Optometry.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): The first thing I did was create the
template for my brochure. The shape of my brochure was in the shape of
glasses. I designed the template in Adobe Illustrator. I created the outline for the the inside and outside for the front and back covers. Next I
transferred these outlines into Adobe InDesign. I made text boxes and organized my content on various parts of the model. Once I added my images,
I wrapped the text.
Message: Four Eyes Optometry is up to date with the latest styles and
costumer satisfactions is their highest priority.
Audience: Local, recent and future customers.
Top Thing Learned: You need to group your separate shapes together for
better transpiration between programs and pages.
Color scheme and color names: Analagous, green, teal and blue

Description: Inspirational montage poster or flier made by blending multiple
images together and combing these images with beautify typography.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, Steps taken while designing): 1. Selected
a background image. Saved and downloaded it to my computer and cropped it
into 11x 8.5 in. 2. Inserted the ballerina and placed a mask on top of her. 3.
With a 25% gray brush, I softened the edges and blended her body into the
background. I also added a shadow. 4. I repeated the same process with the
ballet shoes but I did not add a shadow to them. 5. I typed in my message using
two contrasting fonts and I changed the size and added color from the stage
lights to add emphasis. 7. Program used: Adobe Photoshop.
Message: I wanted to convey that if we focus too much on the negatives in
life we will miss out on life-changing experiences. We are often discouraged
by our failures and we fail to see the beauty in making mistakes.
Audience: Those that doubt their talents and abilities.
Top Thing Learned: You dont need a lot to get your message across. Simple is
powerful.
Filter / Colorization used and where it was applied: no filters were used.

Description: Black and white flier promoting a professional conference for business graduates.
Process: My goal for this project was to create a fun and exciting,
but nonetheless professional atmosphere. Before the Adobe InDesign compilation, I sketched four unique designs and from there,
drafted the two best. My client provided me with a logo, picture and
text. I used different shades of gray as my white space to give the flier flare. I also added weird shapes for variety.
Message: My goal for this project was to create a fun and exciting,
but nonetheless professional atmosphere.
Audience: Upcoming Business Graduates
Top Thing I learned: There is no such thing as too much white space.

Description: Motivational poster that emphasizes the importance of
relaxing and taking in the scenery.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): The first thing that I did was
grabbed my camera and drove to the Nature Park. I like to capture
very specific shots and after I left class, I had an idea of what I
wanted to shoot. Because I am a photographer for the Scroll this
semester, we are not allowed to edit our pictures. We have to shoot
with controlled, manual placed settings. I chose to do the same with
this project, none of my pictures were edited except enlarging or
shrinking the image in photoshop. From there, I proceeded to create
my project in Indesign.
Message: There is more to life than meets the eye; stop and look
around.
Audience: People that enjoy the outdoors.

Description: Full-bleed, black and white flier advertising
a silent auction for charity.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I made one sketch and
then created the first model in Word. My first project I did
not like so I started over.
Message: This silent auction is being held for charity. My
flier is black and white because I wanted it directed towards people with money. This fundraiser isa suit and tie
event, very fancy and serious. I wanted this piece to reflect that lifestyle and attitude. My focus was to make the
design very classy and posh but for a good cause.
Audience: Upper class citizens and families
Color scheme and color names: Monochromatic
Top Thing Learned: I learned how to expand my margins and
how to make a flier in this program.
