Semi-detailed Lesson Plan in English 7

Date: December 4-12, 2014


I.

Specific Objectives
During and after the discussion, the students are expected to:
1. Read and analyze the short story entitled "Footnote to Youth" by Jose Garcia Villa;
2. Compare and Contrast the qualities of the characters in the story with the characteristics of
todays youth; and
3. Understand the value of apt decision making in life as inculcated in the story.

B. Preparation
(Note: The students will be asked to read the story before the day of the lesson as an
advanced reading.)

Group Activity: The teacher will have a crisscross activity, wherein the students will
give their own descriptive words in each letter of the word Y-O-U-T-H that will
describe the Youth in our present time.
From the given adjective words, the teacher will ask the students to analyze if those
words describe the Youth in the story entitled Footnote to Youth by Jose Garcia
Villa.

C. Presentation
There are unfamiliar words used in the story that the students might not understand
while reading it, and to unlock those difficulties of the students, they will have the
vocabulary enrichment to know the meaning of those words.

Teacher will introduced the author of the story and give a brief background.

D. Comparison and abstraction

The teacher will dwell on discussing the story by asking questions to the students for
them to understand it deeply.

The teacher will emphasize the moral or the story.
F. Application
Goal: To make a venn diagram comparing and contrasting Dodong and yourself with a
minimum of five characteristics.
