The logo was created using Adobe Illustrator. I used the pencil tool to create the chopsticks
and the spiral shape for the sushi roll and circle shapes for the center of the sushi. I then used
InDesign to design my business card and stationery page and placed the logo in the document.
I downloaded fonts from Dafont.com to match my logo.

Microsoft Word
Objectives:
Process:
I scanned the image of the cookie dough from a text book. I then used the image as the base
for my color scheme in the design. I used text boxes and filled them with color to create the
design pattern. I cropped and used a Word image effect to take the bowl of chocolate chips and
sugar to add them at the bottom. I used the shapes tool to create the cookies. I tried to incorporate repetition and rhythm as well as the rule of thirds. The only programs I used to create
this ad was Microsoft Word, Epson Perfection V500 Photo Scanner, and an online jpg converter.

InDesign
Objectives:
Process:
I started by creating 4 separate sketches for possible ideas. I then chose my favorite sketch and
created a shape map using Adobe InDesign. Once that was finished, I began inserting the text
and pictures. I referred to the 15 FOCUS principles to ensure I incorporated the proper design
principles. I asked my classmates and peers to critique my design, and I used their suggestions
to improve my final outcome.

Objectives:
Process:
I found the picture online. I used PhotoShop and started with the picture of the footprints in
the sand. I used the Guassian blur filter to blur the footprints in the upper right corner. I put the
picture of Christ holding the persons hand on top of the beach picture and used the masking
effect to fade the picture around the edges so that the focus was on the hands. I used a quote
that I felt complimented the picture and the message I was trying to convey. I used contrasting
fonts to bring attention to the words I felt were important.

Process:
I decided on a color scheme first, then I took a photo that had the color scheme I chose. I edited the photo in PhotoShop so that the colors I needed were more vibrant. I used the eyedropper tool to choose the colors I have on the out edges. I found a quote that went with the
picture to fill in some of the white space in the photo.

I created an outline for the brochure using InDesign. I used Illustrator to create the logo. I found
pictures from the internet, three of which I used in the offset part seen from the front of the
brochure. For the fourth picture I used Photoshop to crop out a cupcake. I wrapped some of my
text around the cropped cupcake.

Objectives:
- Create three completely different, original logos for a company. Do not imitate existing logos
or use previous designs.
- Use only the Illustrator tools to create and draw your logos.
Process:
I created each logo using Adobe Illustrator. For the first logo, I used the rectangle shape tool to
make the D look like a coffee mug. The middle logo is created using the pen tool too create the
coffee mug/cinnamon roll effect in the second picture. In the last logo I used the circle shape
tool and deleted half of the circle to create the shape of a cup and handle. For color schemes
I used the eyedropper tool and used colors directly from the color wheel in the first and last
logos.
