RIVER EXPLORERS is a Cusco-based travel and adventure agency of the inspiration of Boris Rojas
Tupayachi who owns and operates RIVER EXPLORERS E.I.R.L. Boris Rojas was born and raised in the
Sacred Valley Calca in the region of Cusco.
Having started working within tourism since the age of 12, Boris Rojas has extensive experience in
guiding tourists on short as well as long trips all around Peru. Boris Rojas has been leading tours on
mountain biking, trekking tours AND cultural trips.
River Rafting has always played a special part of his life. He has more than 25 years of experience
working in rafting in Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Africa and in Europe. He has opened new
rivers for commercial rafting in Peru and in South Africa, and also done competitions and won
national championships in Peru and in Denmark

RIVER EXPLORERS E.I.R.L. is certified by the Peruvian Ministry of Tourism , the only institution that
certifies tour operators in Peru.
For the Inca trail tour operators need a special permit granted by the Peruvian Government
Department INC (National Institution of Culture), which is the official entity controlling the access to
The Inca Trail and Machu Picchu. RIVER EXPLORERS E.I.R.L. is certified to run any Inca trails available
in Peru.
Since 2008 rafting tour operators need to have special certifications to operate rafting tours on rivers
around Peru.
