MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dear Student Leaders,

As the semester draws to a close in these final weeks, we in the MRC
want to remind you to stay stress-free! Final exams are quickly
approaching and this can bring about a great angst for students.
There are a variety of study techniques you can utilize to end the
semester successfully. Take advantage of all of the
De-Stress December activities happening around campus.
In the following pages, you will find a listing of some upcoming
student organization events in addition to MRC events for the
Spring 2015 semester. Take advantage of these opportunities to
get involved as well.
The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) has been busy
this semester with a series of events as well. ODEI hosted its first
UDiversity Conference in an effort to build an educational institute for
diversity education on campus. UDiversity will develop programmatic
presentations designed to train faculty, staff and students in regard
to cultural competence on campus. In the coming months, look
for new activities from ODEI that you will find in MRC trainings
and workshops. We are excited for the opportunity to move our
institution into the 21st century as a premier institution in regards
to cultural excellence.
We wish you the best of luck on your final exams and a safe and
restful winter break!
Sincerely,
Dr. Nicole Sirju-Johnson
Director of the Multicultural Resource Center
