CELEBRATE COLUMBUS.
--James Victore's first poster. This image was a street poster protesting the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Columbus' discovery of America and the subsequent genocide of native Americans.
--James says Celebrate Columbus came from my own desires and frustrations as a designer to use my abilities to comment on the news, society and culture.

--Social issue poster created in 1997 to raise awareness of AIDS.
--James says Originally these were promotional posters for a Japanese paper company, I chose to give them more meaning.

--A protest poster created during the summer of 1993 after racial riots upended New York City.
--James says I hate racism.

DISNEY GO HOME.
--A dissident poster protesting the Disney-fication of Times Square.
--James says The idea to revitalize Times Square had been on the books since the early 1980's. In the late nineties, corporate donations helped make it happen, with Disney leading the way. Disney? New York, I love you, but you're
bringing me down. Becoming bland. Becoming a franchise. Selling yourself short in search of a buck., and the lowest form of a buck to boot a tourist buck. We can now travel to any spot on the planet and find the exact same crap we
have at home. Put a roof over it and call it a mall.

--On the left: Each one-of-a-kind platter carries a social/political comment or a deeply personal statement from the artist.

--Middle:

James was invited by the Ace Hotel NY and Behance to install an art exhibition in the hotel's gallery. James says I had no such art, so I went to the thrift store to buy some. I decided to use the motivational/philosophical
phrases I had written for a 2012 event and silkscreen them over my newly acquired thrift store paintings. There was never a concern to match the phrases with the imagery, nor to print right side up.
--Plays by his own rules, gets to personally express his views through his work, seems to combine fine art with graphic design

In my opinion James work is interesting, refreshing, and direct.

He seems to cut through any of the bullshit he doesnt like or agree with, in terms of rules, and in turn create memorable work.
