ENGLISH WEEK

ENGLISH IS FUN

I.0 INTRODUCTION
The English Week is held in accordance with the recommendations of Ministry Of Education.It will be
implemented within one week.It offers a number of interesting language-based activities for all the
students and teachers of school community.

2.0 OBJECTIVES
2.1 To promote the use of English among students and teachers
2.2 To enhance the level of English proficiency among students.
2.3 To increase student /teachers interest in learning English.
2.3 To encourage participation of students in school-level competitions

REPORT
Language as a tool of communication between peoples and nations is
important to control actively. English is the global language in all aspects of life,
schools, commerce, politics and tourism. Therefore use of conditioning required,
especially the ability to speak English from an early stage that is not directly provide
life skills for students in the future.

The ability to speak is a cognitive process with much integration, namely


listening, reading and writing that this process continues and at the same time in the
practice. Students will be able to express what he has learned from the past or his
experience, ability to speak is very dependent on the extent to which efforts have
been made of students, whatever their business, so the more he practiced with a
variety of ways or methods of learning, it is one exit.

In order to enhance student's interests in learning English, different marvelous


and interesting activities were held during the week.During the beginning of May,
the English panel had planned and carried out the English Week which listing down
various exciting activities to trigger pupils interest in learning and practicing English.
However, the time allocation had been shortened due to the other events and
activities that were being held in school within the same week, yet all activities
planned were carried out successfully with great support financially and morally from
all teachers and pupils

Head of the committee to ensure that all activities carried out by coordinating
all the work of teachers in implementing the program committee will also involve
teachers of other subjects to facilitate the activities .As they appointed as referees or
coordinators of some activities. Students were also involved directly; especially the
club members also facilitate the further course of many programs at once expressed
their leadership skills in carrying out responsibilities in point.

To summarize the activities, we had Treasure Hunt, Language Games,story


telling,scrabble,spell it right,action song and reading competition. All of them were
enjoyable and intriguing activities. I think participating students had a great time
with them.We conducted the activities accordingly to their level and category.
The invitations were made on Friday to activate teachers memory of the
upcoming school activities. Then, on 3rd of May 201, Tuesday, since Monday was a
public holiday, the activities took off as scheduled. Starting from 7.30 a.m., the event
was initiated with The Crossword Puzzle and Word Search Competition. The
competition involved all pupils from Year 1 to Year 6. The Crossword Puzzle is
meant for Level 1 pupils while level 2 pupils did Word Search within 45 minutes.
Later on, everyone dismissed into classes because the following events were
programmed to set off tomorrow after recess .This program was planned not to
disturb the Teaching and Learning process in normal class. .
