Course Advanced Software Engineering (3 semester hours) Introduction to


Description software life cycle models and overview of their stages. System and
(from the software requirements engineering, software architecture and design,
catalog): software testing, validation, and verification, software quality
assurance and metrics, software generation, maintenance, and
evolution, project planning, control, and management. Software
processes, CASE tools, software reuse, reverse engineering, and re-
engineering. (3-0)

Prerequisite: CS 5303, CS 5333 corequisite: CS 5343 (CS 5343 can be taken


before or at the same time as CS 6354)

Course Grading: The final grade is calculated as follows:
20% Homework
40% Group project deliverables
40% Final
Incomplete The UTD undergraduate catalog contains the requirements and process to
status: apply for a grade of incomplete. Some valid reasons for an incomplete
include:
• Missing the final exam due to illness or death in the family
• Missing the final exam due to a job or school related business trip

Please note these cases MUST be verified in writing.

Add/Drop: The UTD undergraduate catalog contains the registration deadlines


for adding and dropping courses. Each student is responsible for
following UTD’s registration policy and schedule.

Exam Dates: Final Exam As scheduled by The University in the final


exam week (2 hours)
Attendance: Attendance is expected. In the event of missing a lecture, the student is
responsible for promptly obtaining any handouts, announcements,
assignments, reading material, etc. covered in the lecture.

Required Required reading will be assigned from the text and selected papers.

Additional Students are required to work in groups with 5-7 members for the group
Notes: project.

The final exam is written individually.
