COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course enables students to acquire skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
basic Vietnamese. It also introduces them to general aspects of Vietnam’s culture.
Among the major instructional foci of the course are pronunciation and conversation
practice, sentence structures based on simple syntax and controlled vocabularies, and
general features of Vietnamese culture. Because classroom interaction is crucial, regular
attendance is required.
