Organization is a place where workers work to achieve a definite goal. Manager is an important
person who is liable to achieve the goal by using resource and lead the employee. Strategic goal
of a company needs for the betterment of the company. A strategic manager always concern to
maintain the whole system to achieve the strategic goal. Manager or leader of a company is a
formal administrator who needs personal skills to achieve strategic goals. Personal skills and
abilities are the power to do things or work in a better way. Skills are the ability to do something
that he possesses and use it day by day in the organization for achieving the strategic goals.
There are many personal skills of a strategic manager in an organization such as communication
skills, time management, stress management, conflict management, and motivation quality etc.
Communication skills: Communication skills need to understand the employee and maintain a
favorable relation with them within the work place. Manager should have strong communication
power with the employee and outside parties who relate with the organization. There two kinds
of communication one is verbal and another is non-verbal communication. Verbal
communication is a communication system that leads people to say something but non-verbal
communication is way of communication without speaks any words.
Stress management: Stress management is very essential and a critical skills for the managerial
success of a strategic manager. Organizational, environmental and individual factors are related
with stress management. Stress management is a big challenge for the strategic manager. The
symptoms of stress are bad moods, headache, pain and various kinds of physical and mental
problem. Individual should find out the cause for stress and take appropriate solutions to
maintain these stresses in the work place.
Time management: A time management strategy is misnomer. Individual cannot mange time,
he should maintain his work schedule in terms of time. Some key factors of time management
strategies are given below:

1. Set how individual spends his time when he will do his work. It helps to maintain his
time and he can complete his planned work just in time.
2. Identify the important job from the set of job helps to achieve the objectives.
3. Anyone can use pocket diary, notebook, calendar, electronic device, computer software

the organization. Managers use these kinds of techniques to achieve the strategic goals. These
techniques are leadership skills, training and development skills, multi-tasking skills, technical
competence, conceptual ability, social and human skills etc.
Training and development skills: Training and development are very essential skills for a
strategic manager. Nowadays the world becomes more challenging and competitive. New idea
comes day by day. Therefore, manager should develop his own skills and ability to take proper
coaching and development plan to compete with the changing business world.
Leadership skills: Leadership skill is the backbone of a manager. Leadership skills are the key
factor to success in the business world. If a manager has effective leadership, skills he will move
forward in the organizational life.
Multi-tasking skills: When men join in a professional life within an organization, he may
maintain various types of tasks. Therefore, multi-tasking is very essential for a manager to
handle various types of tasks. Multi-tasking skills make works more efficiency.

Technical competence: Technical competence refers the methods and applications of specific
knowledge. Technical competence needs to develop and training to the employee in the
organization.
Conceptual ability: A manager should have the conceptual ability about any kind of problems
and their solutions. Conceptual ability helps to determine the environmental influences and
decision-making. It leads a better situation for a strategic manager and helps to support strategic

Social and human skills: Social and human skills make a relationship among the manager and

knowledge. Every man should choice better style of learning which is fruitful and effective for
himself.
As an activist, one should learn different idea and new knowledge from the work place. As a
learner, everyone should learn with passion, enthusiasm, and enjoying working and learning.
Individual may have flexible personality, which helps to adapt in various situation and assists to
become an expert in such situation.
When a man choices the way of learning as a reflector he may do better in the work place. One
should observe the things and analyze them for the better learning. This style is better for whom
who is interested to observe something.
Man who is very punctual and active in work place and discipline to do work prefer to choice
technique as The Theorist. It is a systematic way to learn anything. In this way every one try to
solve problem in a logical way and give better chance to learn new things.

learning against original aim and objectives set in the development plan is essential for
evaluating development plan. There are two steps to reflect the learning against objectives. First,
one is record and second one is evaluation. Record the time and obstacle to the development
plan. Really, I enjoy the development plan and I used my all skills to complete the goals and
objectives. I have spent my duty time within the development plan. This project gives me a new
sense of business and new management skills. I have monitored and reviewed all functions and
gathered information. All functions are completed and I want to prepare myself for the next
development plan. I have faced some problems when I was working and it will have to carry out
forward for next development plan. My line manager has showed positive feedback for my
responsibilities.
