ERP 5110 Student Group Project

ERP 5110 - ERP Systems Design and Implementation

Student Group Project
Due: Monday, December 8, 2014
Each student will work with a team of 6 to 9 members to create a presentation on an SAP product (not the core ERP
software). Graduate student groups (1 through 3) will also be required to turn in a paper on the same topic. This
document outlines the requirements for each deliverable related to this project. The paper and presentation are worth
a significant portion of each students grade. This needs to be reflected in the amount of effort put forth into the
outcomes of the project.
Group Assignment
Groups are assigned by the instructor and found in the table in blackboard. Any issues with group assignment need to
be made known before the end of week 7 of the semester. Each student is responsible for the group project peer
evaluation form (on Blackboard) due December 8. This is a requirement for the class and must be submitted to get a
grade for either the paper or presentation.
This assignment is an opportunity for all students to practice the skills needed to work together to achieve a group
goal. This will be a major part of your future job requirements and is something a student should master. This project
will require a large amount of research, planning, and design. The groups are expected to follow the schedule below
and meet each of the deliverable expectations.
Project Deliverables and Dates
Deliverable 1: SAP Product Selection. This is due to the instructor by October 6. This needs to be sent to the
instructor via email and this email needs to include all team members in the copy list and show all team members
have agreed to this topic choice (an email chain). This deliverable is described more below.
Deliverable 2: Division of labor and specific responsibilities of each team member. This is due by October 20th. This
will be a document submitted by each team member to Blackboard. A template can be found on Blackboard.
Deliverable 3: Group paper and presentation submitted to Blackboard. This is due Monday, December 8th.
SAP Product Selection
Groups need to notify the instructor by October 6 of their product choice. This is done on a first come, first server
basis.

Papers should be free of grammatical errors. To assist with this students are encouraged to use the writing center. If
you are going to use the writing center you need to let them know very early as they get busy towards the end of the

Academic Integrity

ERP 5110 Student Group Project

Students are expected to understand and follow academic integrity guidelines described on the MST website. Failure
to follow these guidelines will result in 0 (zero) points being given for this assignment.
Presentation Guidelines (all groups)
The presentation should clearly define what the product is and what it is used for and can include comparison with
competing products. Be sure to address all content guidelines described above. The presentation must be 15-20
minutes long; any presentation that is outside this window of time will lose all time points (10 points). The
presentation should involve the use of power point and possibly demonstrations.
Presenters: On the day of your presentation one team member chosen at random will NOT be involved in the
presentation. All other team members must participate in the presentation and cover all presentation slides and topics.
All team members will be given the same grade entry in blackboard.
References/ Citations: Please use reference in the presentation to cite sources of content in the presentation. This
should be done for all pictures, screen shots, and demonstrations. 20 (or more) sources must be used. Be sure to use
current and appropriate sources! Use numbers in the presentation and the last slide (s) should include the reference
list. Examples are shown in the Citations Instructions document in blackboard.
An electronic version of the presentation is due before the start of class (1:00 PM), Monday, December 8th, 2014. A
printed version of the presentation (3 slides per page) must be given to the instructor prior to the presentation time.
