Mikes Message
Summer is flying by! Hopefully everyone is enjoying their vacations and taking advantage of the
warm weather. Lots of great things happening in the store this month.
Were in the final weeks of the Veterans Campaign, and thanks to the efforts of Georgette Jurkowski and our front end associates were only about $3,000 away from our store goal.
This month, we will continue our weekend summer Farmers Market outside the store. Remember,
spreading the word about all the fresh, local produce and items we offer, is a big part of getting our customers engaged and excited about shopping at ShopRite. I take a lot of pride in this store, and hope everyone
else does too. Please take full advantage of every opportunity you have to inform customers about our attributes. Whether its our ground beef program, our imported store brands, or our freshly-baked boulangerie
breads these are all things that set us apart from the competition and I rely on you to help spread the
word and build our customer base. If a customer asks a question, and youre not sure of the answer,
please ask a manager. Also, if youre ever in need of further training, dont be afraid to ask. You are a big
part of our success! We have just completed two cycles of the new TX3 training program in bakery and
deli. Feedback has been very positive so far. As a company, were investing in associate development, and
preparing new hires for success in their departments.
Finally, the management team continues to meet with associates to discuss how we can improve
your engagement and experience, working in the store. Most people have expressed gratitude for department managers working with their schedules, as well as the overall environment we provide. Im always
open to suggestions and hope you wont wait for a formal AEM meeting to let me know how I can improve
the store. Back-to-school time is right around the corner, so hopefully you will make the very best of the
last days of summer. As always, I want to thank you for your continued support and efforts. Keep up the
great work!

FAREWELL RACHEL

Rachel Robinson has served as our in-store dietitian since December 2013.
During that time, she has impacted the lives of so many customers and
associates. Thanks to her guidance and expertise, many are living healthier
lifestyles, while others have lost significant amounts of weight and were
even able to get off of their medications. Her friendly smile, upbeat personality and passion for nutrition made her an asset to our store and our
community. She has been transferred to ShopRites Albany store (which is
closer to her home). While we wish Rachel all the best of luck and continued success, we are sad to see her go, and will certainly miss her tremendously! Rachel will remain in the
store until the middle of August, training the new dietitian, Jaclyn Masci. Be sure and stop by to thank Rachel and wish her well, and join us in welcoming Jaclyn.

MURAL UPDATE
Thank you to everyone who voted. We received 63 total votes. The winner (with 31), was: Madeline Hoetger of
night crew! Her creative mural proposal earned her a $25 gift card! Thank you to Liza Jayne Powers and Gunnel
Sprague for their entries as well. It was a close race and we would have been proud to use any of the ideas, for sure!
