The AKCT cidambaram cotton mill privatelimited was established in the year of 2006 with 2700 spindles
at mangalam near polur about 23 km away from thiruvannamalai. area of industry is 10 acres, in that
building occupied 5 acres. The management os ersed in spinning mills since last 40 years.
Mr AKCT Cidambaram is the company managing director AKCT alagappachettair, chairman and the aim
of the family was starting a textile unit in mangalam and to provide employment.they have started this
new mill at industrial back ward area the capital investment is Rs 50 crores. If is employing 488
employees. The mills has a capacity to the produced 6 tons of the yarn per day.
The company was started because of the abolition of the central value added tax (cenvat) by the united
progressive alliance govt. zone after coming to power has led to the textile industry and reporting of
several mills in india especially in tamilnadu.

PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
Production department consists of mill manager who is in change the mill also consists spinning
superintendents and mill superrvisor. The mill is having 33600 spindles. It produces under 100% polyster
yarn.

When they started the industry there was a fear about the textile industry, first one to be started after
independence, with the objective of providing employment to the people would decline due to the
increase in the price of the cotton and yarn. Several textile mills mostly in Coimbatore district were
closed down. But while the company setup In 2006 manufacture 100% polyster yarn of 40s and 60s
count. Its facility in thiruvannamalai (tamailnadu) is equipped with 39744 spindles. Setup in 1956, shriri
indra manufacturer blended viscose yarn with count of 47 and 60s, typically used for producing school
uniforms. Currently the operation of the both the companies are managed by Mr.A.L.Cidambaram
grandson of Mr AKCT Cidambaram.
The decition to abolish the cenvat not only for the power loom sector but also for the entire textile
industry. the move was made to ensure that the industry continuous to provide employment to lakhs of
persons.

PENSION FUND
10% fund allotted by management as employees pension fund. In the fund 12% interest has been
allotted be management to workers as pension scheme only apply to 1 year under the benefited. The
company also contributed to display disablement benefits to the workers. If the employees dies, this is
fund given to as nominee.
TIME OFFICE
The overall control of the time office is rested center head time keeper. He has ESI and other returns
assistants time keeper function under him. He is in change of preparation of wage bill master roll.
