FINAL EXAM

Grading:
Grades will be based on your attendance and performance. Your semester grade
will be determined using the following scheme:
Lab exercises 1 10 ............................................... 50%
Lab report of exercise 11 .......................................... 25%
Final exam ................................................................ 25%
Total .........................................................................100%
Lab exercises, notebooks, and report will be graded by the teaching assistants of
your laboratory section. In addition, each student must demonstrate competency
in basic microbiological techniques including microscopy (Gram stain), the
streak plate and aseptic technique. These skills will be evaluated by your
teaching assistants. The final examination will be graded by Dr. Marsh & Dr.
Arvidson.

Final Grade Point:

The final grade point scale is as follows;
4.0 93-100
3.5 87-92
3.0 82-86
2.5 76-81
2.0 70-75
1.5 64-69
1.0 56-63
0.0 0-55

Attendance:
A laboratory is a graded exercise. If you do not attend, your grade for that lab is
zero. You are expected to attend all laboratory classes. Each unexcused absence
will result in a 5% deduction from your final grade in the course. There are no
make-up laboratory classes. All assignments and the final examination must be
completed on the scheduled dates. Exceptions will be made only in cases of a
documented medical problem.

Pre-lab preparation:
Come prepared to the lab; read the exercise of the week before class.
Consult the textbook used in MIC 301 for additional details.
