12 Things God Doesnt Want You

Doing To Yourself. #4 Is A Mistake.

#6 Is Really Dangerous.
Your life was transformed the moment you received Jesus. But it didnt end there!
God wants tocontinuously provide His favor, abundance and salvation to every
area of your life. But in order to be open to receive, youll have to let go of the
things holding you back.
Here are some ideas to get you started:

1. Looking back.

Several reasons why you shouldnt do this come to mind, but well focus on just
one today: Its very hard to move forward when youre carrying dead weight.
Your past doesnt exist anymore. Theres wisdom in learning from the past but
that doesnt mean youfocus on the past. Focusing on past mistakes, people who
have wronged you or even dwelling on those years where you once had it good
is just dead weight slowing you down from receiving reimbursement
andreward from your Heavenly Father.

2. Believing youre worthless.

Youre not worthless. Believing this is like saying Gods a lousy Investor.

Salvation is a gift from God that we can only receive its not earned or deserved.
But God knew what He was doing when He gave up His Son for you.
I love the amplified version of John 3:16

which says God prized, valued and loved

you so much He gave Jesus in exchange for your freedom. This is the truth:
A possession prized, valued and loved is not worthless - but prized, valued
and loved!

3. Praying with strings attached.

I think weve all been guilty of asking God for help in prayer and then going on as
miserable as before we prayed.
Thats praying with strings attached. Its giving your burden to God during prayer
and then pulling that burden right back to yourself afterwards, usually with grief,
unbelief and negative words.
So if youre still holding on to it, can (or will) God take care of it?
Lets trust God! When we pray, lets believe the problem has been given to Him
and refuse to pull it back. In exchange for our burdens God gives us supernatural
peace and solves our problem. Sounds like a good trade to me!

4. Wanting to be someone else.

Again, multiple reasons, but Ill highlight just one: You are not who you want to be
and you will never be. This is a GOOD thing.
God designed you for a specific, unique, extraordinary purpose; therefore,
you are specifically, uniquely and extraordinarily designed.

Youll never find satisfaction or fulfillment in being someone else because that
would simply be contrary to your design.
Satisfaction is found only in Christ. Fulfillment is found when youre operating in
the Spirit, using the special talents, gifts and abilities God has given you to help a
world that is deficient, void and fallen.
God desires His people to be above only and not beneath, the head and not the
tail, lending to many, not being forced to borrow. God blesses us so that we can be
a source of blessing to others as a representation of His goodness and loving
generosity wherever we go.
Therefore, you are a blessing from God. Your gifts are also a blessing. Use them,
cultivate them, dont be afraid to make mistakes!
Rememeber, even if you think youre not good at anything or average at
everything, you qualify even more for God to use you.

God doesnt call the qualified, He equips and qualifies the called. You are called!

5. Talking bad about yourself. Its not humility.

This is not humility and is far from the truth.

Not thinking highly of yourself is just one aspect of humility included is this
truth: we are no longer in ourselves, we are in Christ! In Christ, our old nature has
passed away; all things have become new because God has given us a new nature
His nature!
Humility is knowing you are everything in Christ but nothing without
Him. Humility is believing what Gods word says about you!

Gods word further describes humility as being meek and absent from yourself.
But meekness is simply power under control. And to be absent from yourself is to
be present with God.
Therefore, you are in Christ; you have a new nature; you are powerful; you are
present with God.
You cant say anything bad about that!

6. Being depressed for days after asking God for forgiveness.

God is not man. When you ask for forgiveness He forgives you
immediately. He doesnt need a day or two to get over it.

Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for the remission of our sins. He bore
the wrath and punishment of God the Father. Do you believe it? Because its on
that basis alone that we are justified and forgiven. So stop punishing yourself!
John wrote to Christians in 1 John 9:10 , explaining that if we do sin, confess. God
is faithful and will forgive us. Literally, as soon as we repent He forgives us.
Forgiveness is not based on whether you feel forgiven but on the finished work of
Jesus and what Gods word says!
So press forward confidently. God has given you grace to overcome.

7. Judging unbelievers.

Why do we think its so weird and even get offended if we see sin in the
world? Whats weird is continuing to habitually sin when we belong to Jesus and
carry the very nature and presence of God inside of us!
Gods word says that a) its the goodness of God that leads one to repentance b)
its the Holy Spirits job to convict the world of sin and c) no one can come to God
unless God draws and attracts that person to Himself.
Therefore, our main focus as Christs representatives and ambassadors on earth is
to do exactly what Jesus did: we are to diligently obey God and show the world
His love and goodness! God will take care of points b and c.

8. Running away from God after messing up.

God is there for the good times but Hes doubly there for the bad times.
Its especially important to draw near to God when you mess up so that He can
provide forgiveness, healing and superabundant, empowering grace to that area of
your life!

9. Focusing on not sinning.

In Gods kingdom the way you rid of something bad is to replace it with something
good.
Focusing on not sinning will only lead to more sin. But if youre focus is on Jesus
and His loveliness then the righteousness of God will flow through you!
So put off whats bad and put on whats good; simply replace bad habits with good
habits. Thats what the apostle Paul meant by putting off the misdeeds of the
body and putting on Christ.

10. Being scared of people.

The bible says Jesus made Himself of no reputation. In other words, He didnt
care what people thought of Him; He did exactly what God wanted Him to do
100% of the time regardless of what people said or thought, or how they reacted.
Being overly concerned of what others think will determine just how much God
uses you and how much of God youll experience. He doesnt want you to miss
out on anything!

11. Being hard on yourself.

When we do this its usually an indicator that were focusing too much on
ourselves.
The solution is to stop and pray acknowledge that you cant do anything apart
from Jesus and His Spirit empowering you.
Focus on the truth that God reigns and is in control, miraculously
rearranging and repurposing all thats bad for good.

Mistakes are life lessons designed to help you mature and grow in wisdom;
therefore, mistakes are just as important as successes.
Relax. Rest in God. Enjoy the journey and learn to love the learning.

12. Being unhappy.

I dont mean to scare you but killing your joy is high priority on the daily demonic
agenda.
Thats because the enemy knows theres incredible power in joy. There is power
to overcome depression, sadness and insecurity; a power to patiently endure trials
with a quiet confidence and Godly attitude; there is a power to attract non-believers
to receive Jesus!
The joy that God gives us is unlike the worlds joy, which is co-dependent on
feelings and circumstances.
The joy that God gives us is His personal joy, supernaturally empowering
us with superabundant happiness and strength!

Its time to let go and let God!
