"Our knowledge is in no way extended by analytical

judgments. But all they effect is to put the concepts which
we possess into better order and render them more
intelligible."
Kemp Smith

LAWS

1 Timothy 1;5 Now the end of the commandment is

charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience,
and of faith unfeigned.

1 Timothy 1;9,10 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous
but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and
irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for
the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders
and liars and perjurers and for whatever else is contrary to the sound
doctrine.
Titus 1;15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted
and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences
are corrupted.
1 Corinthians 6;12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not
profitable. I may do all things, but I will not be brought under the power of
anything.
Galatians 5;13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do
not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly
in love.
Romans 6;1,2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace
may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any
longer therein?
Galatians 2;16,18,19 Know that a man is not justified by the works of the
Law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we, I say, have believed in Jesus
Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works
of the Law, because that by the works of the Law, no flesh shall be justified.
18 For if I build again the things that I have destroyed, I make myself a
trespasser. 19 For I through the Law am dead to the Law, that I might live
unto God.
Matthew 12;31 Wherefore I say unto you, every sin and blasphemy shall be
forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the holy Ghost shall not be
forgiven unto men.
Hebrews 10;26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the
knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.
James 2;10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one
point, he is guilty of all.

John 8;34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, whosoever
committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Ecclesiastes 8;11 Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed
speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil.
1 John 3;18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in
truth.
Micah 6;8 He hath showed thee, O man, what is good, and what the Lord
require of thee: surely to do justly, and to love mercy, and to humble thyself,
to walk with thy God.
Matthew 20;26,27 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be
great among you, let him be your servant. 27 And whosoever will be chief
among you, let him be your servant.
1 Corinthians 4;20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in
power.
Matthew 7;12 Therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do to you:
even so do ye to them: for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Romans 13;10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the
fulfilling of the law.
Galatians 5;22,23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperancy:
against such there is no law.
1 Corinthians 10;24 Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his
neighbor.
Genesis 4;7 f thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest
not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt
rule over him.
Matthew 5;29 Wherefore if thy right eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out
and cast it from thee: for better it is for thee, that one of thy members perish,
than that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Matthew 5;39 But I say unto you, Resist not evil: but whosoever shall
smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Romans 12;21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with goodness.
Romans 15;1 We which are strong, ought to bear the infirmities of the
weak, and not to please ourselves.
James 4;17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to
him it is sin.
Romans 14;12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to
God.
Luke 12;57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
1 Corinthians 11;31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be
judged.
Romans 2;15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts,
while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts
accuse or even excuse them.
2 Corinthians 5;10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of
Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the
body, whether good or evil.
Mark 4;24 And he said to them, Pay attention to what you hear: with the
measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to
you.
Matthew 18; 33,35 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy
fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? 35 So likewise shall my
heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every
one his brother their trespasses.
Exodus 20; 3 a 17. 3 You shall have no other gods before me. 4 You
shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is
in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under
the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord
your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children
to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing
6

steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my

commandments.
7 You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord
will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor,
and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your
God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter,
your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner
who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and
earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore
the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the
land that the Lord your God is giving you.
13 You shall not murder.
14 You shall not commit adultery.
15 You shall not steal.
16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your
neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his
donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.
John 14;21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who
loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will
love them and show myself to them.
1 John 2;4 Whoever says, I have come to know him, but does not obey
his commandments, is a liar, and in such a person the truth does not exist;
1 John 5;2,3 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we
love God and obey his commandments. 3 For the love of God is this, that
we obey his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.
John 15;12,13,14 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I
have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay
down his life for his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I
command you.
Matthew 22;37,38,39,40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy
God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This
is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.40 On these two commandments
hang all the law and the prophets.
7

John 5;39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life:
and they are they which testify of me.
John 8;31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him: If you abide in
my word, you are truly my disciples.
James 2;14,19 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith
but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 19 You believe that God
is one; you do well. Even the demons believe, and shudder!
James 2; 21,22,23,24 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when
he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that faith was active
along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; 23 and the
Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was counted
to him as righteousness and he was called a friend of God. 24 You see
that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
Romans 3;31 Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be!
On the contrary, we establish the Law.
Matthew 5;17 Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets;
I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.
Matthew 7;21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the
kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven
will enter.
1 Peter 2;15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to
silence the ignorance of foolish men.
Galatians 5;22,23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law.
1 Corinthians 9;21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being
not without law to God, but under the law to Christ), that I might gain them
that are without law.
Mark 7;18,19,20,21,22,23 And he said to them, Then are you also without
understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside
cannot defile him, 19 since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is
8

expelled? 20 And he said: What comes out of a person is what defiles

him. 21 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts,
sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22 coveting, wickedness, deceit,
sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come
from within, and they defile a person.
Acts 10;15 And the voice came to him again a second time, What God has
made clean, do not call common.
Romans 14;17,18,19 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and
drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18
Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. 19
So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.
Colossians 2;16,18 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to
food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day 18
Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in selfabasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has
seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind.
1 John 3;9,10 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed
abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 By this the
children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does
not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his
brother.
Proverbs 28;9 He who turns away his ear from listening to the law, even
his prayer is an abomination.
Psalm 50; 16,17 But unto the wicked God saith, what hast thou to do to
declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee.
Romans 1;25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and
served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Matthew 15;3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also
transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
John 12;48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a
judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

Romans 3;5 But if our unrighteousness serves to show the righteousness of

God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous to inflict wrath on us?
Matthew 18;6 But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in
me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around
his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.
2 Corinthians 6;3,10 We put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault
may be found with our ministry 10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as
poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.
Luke 6;40 A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been
fully trained, will be like his teacher.
Hebrews 5:12,13,14 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you
have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the
oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For
everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of
righteousness, for he is an infant. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who
because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

10

FEAR

Psalm 62;11 God hath spoken once; twice have I

fear Him, and He will make them know His covenant.

his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that
which is before the priests the Levites: 19 And it shall be with him, and he
shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his
God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them.

confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.
Romans 13;1,2,4,6 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing
authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist
are established by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed
the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation
upon themselves. 4 for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you
do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a
minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.

inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What
doest thou?

High that both good and ill go forth? 39 Why should any living mortal, or

and to bring down.

may even be found fighting against God.

rivers a wilderness; Their fish stink for lack of water and die of thirst.

16

HELP

Acts 17;24,25 God that made the world and all

things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and

breath, and all things.

statutes, and say, surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

possess it.

shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. 28 Then said they
unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

Luke 14;12,13,14 And He also went on to say to the one who had invited
Him, When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or
your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, otherwise they may also
invite you in return and that will be your repayment. 13 But when you give
a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you
will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will
be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.
John 9;41 Jesus said to them: If you were blind, you would have no sin; but
since you say, We see, your sin remains.

20

Romans 2; 21,24 You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach
yourself? You who preach that one shall not steal, do you steal? 24 For the
name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you, just as it is
written.

the knowledge of the truth.

wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

no sorrow with it. 23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of
understanding hath wisdom.

Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who
heal, and there is no one who can deliver from My hand.

also heal.

the ground.

barnfloor, or out of the winepress?

over princes.

Was it not the Lord, against whom we have sinned, And in whose ways they
were not willing to walk, and whose law they did not obey? 25 So He
poured out on him the heat of His anger and the fierceness of battle; and it set
him aflame all around, yet he did not recognize it; and it burned him, but he
paid no attention.
2 Corinthians 7;10 Or the sorrow that is according to the will of God
produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of
the world produces death.
Isaiah 59;1,2 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save,
or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; 2 but your iniquities have made a
separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face
from you so that he does not hear.
Nahum 1;3 The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and the Lord will
by no means clear the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the
clouds are the dust of his feet.

22

Hebrews 12; 6,7 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises
every son whom he receives. 7 It is for discipline that you have to endure.

destroyed those who did not believe;
2 Peter 2; 5,9 And did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a

from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the Day
of Judgment.
Jeremiah 7; 16 ,17 As for you, do not pray for this people, and do not lift
up cry or prayer for them, and do not intercede with Me; for I do not hear

LOVE

1John 4;8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for

God is love.

24

Genesis 1;28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful,
and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over
the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing
that moveth upon the earth.
Isaiah 48;17 "Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I
am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the
way that thou shouldest go.
Deuteronomy 11;1 You shall therefore love the Lord your God, and always
keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.
Deuteronomy 30;19,20 I call heaven and earth to witness against you
today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So
choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, 20 by
loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him;
for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land
which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give
them."
Deuteronomy 6;5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your might.

find me.

more, with knowledge and all discernment.
John 13;35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you
have love for one another.
Ephesians 5;25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the
church, and gave himself for it;
Song of Solomon 8;7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the
floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it
would utterly be contemned.

25

Leviticus 19;34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as
one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers
in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
Matthew 5;44,45,46 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those
who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in
heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain
on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 For if you love those who love
you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
1 Corinthians 13;2,3,4,5,6,7,8 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all
mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove
mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my
possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do
not have love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind and is
not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act
unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into
account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but
rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all
things, endures all things.8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of
prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if
there is knowledge, it will be done away.
John 3;16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that
whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

but in deed and in truth.

cleave to that which is good.

26

and hatred with it.
1 Corinthians 8;1,2,3 Now concerning food offered to idols: we know that
all of us possess knowledge. This knowledge puffs up, but love builds
up. 2 If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as
he ought to know. 3 But if anyone loves God, he is known by God.
Romans 14;13,14,15 Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another
any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in
the way of a brother. 14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that
nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it
unclean. 15 For if your brother is grieved by what you eat, you are no
longer walking in love. By what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom
Christ died.
1 Corinthians 8;9,10,11 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of
yours become a stumbling block to them that are weak. 10 For if any man
see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the
conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which
are offered to idols; 11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother
perish, for whom Christ died?
Proverbs 9;8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man,
and he will love thee.
Revelation 3;19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous
therefore, and repent.

27

FAITH

was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received
the promises offered up his only begotten son18
Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be
called. 19 Accounting that God was able to raise
him up, even from the dead; from whence also he
received him in a figure.

little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and
nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out
but by prayer and fasting.

say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have
received them, and they will be granted you.
1 John 5;14,15 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if
we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know

which we have asked from Him.
Matthew 21;21,22 Jesus answered and said unto them: verily I say unto
you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to

be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.22 And all things, whatsoever ye
shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Luke 7:7,9 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee:
but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. 9 When Jesus heard
these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the
people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no,
not in Israel.
Acts 15;9 And he made no distinction between us and them, having

his people.

grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

may be glorified in the Son.

conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their
commendation.

31

Hebrews 11;5,6 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see
death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was
taken he was commended as having pleased God. 6 And without faith it is
impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe
that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
1 Corinthians 9;10 Or is He speaking altogether for our sake? Yes, for our
sake it was written, because the plowman ought to plow in hope, and the
thresher to thresh in hope of sharing the crops.
James 2;23,24 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, And Abraham
believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness, and he was

1 Corinthians 4;7 For who regards you as superior? What do you have that
you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you

also do this or that. 16 But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such
boasting is evil.

your testimonies are my meditation. 100 I understand more than the aged,
for I keep your precepts. 104 Through your precepts I get understanding;
therefore I hate every false way.
