Housatonic Media Group will not be liab le for failure to publish an ad f or typographical errors or errors in pub lications, except to the extent of the cost of the ad for the first insertion. The subject matter , form, size, wording, illustration and typography of all adv ertising copy received by Housatonic Media Group shall be subject to appro val, revision, classification, cancellation or rejection at an y time b y Housatonic Media Group in its sole and absolute discretion. Submission of an order is deemed as acceptance of all applicable rates and regulations of Housatonic Media Group. Housatonic Media Group reserves the right to revise rates at any time with 30 days written notice. Housatonic Media Group reser ves the r ight to reject or revise advertisements in accordance with the standards of the Publisher. Advertisements which simulate editorial style must carry the word Advertisement in at least 8 point type above the ad. No ads will be accepted after deadline . Cancellations after deadline will be billed at 50% of space reser ved. CREDIT POLICY: All credit is e xtended at the discretion of Housatonic Media Group. Statements will be issued monthly and are due net 30 da ys. If an attor ney or collection agency is retained b y Housatonic Media Group to collect any part of an unpaid balance, Housatonic Media Group will, in addition, charge a collection f ee equal to 15% of the unpaid balance.

Single sheet inserts should be on 75# bulk paper in order to be inser ted properly. Preprint inserts must be deliv ered to our pr inter brickstacked or boxed on skids at least one week prior to the running date in the publication. All preprints must be scheduled b y Friday, 5pm one week prior to publication. Identify the newspaper or magazine and date of insertion on the bill of lading and on top of the skids . All rates are net. Inserts subject to approval of Publisher prior to insertion. Final size of insert must not exceed 81/2 x 11. Inserts cannot have indicia. If half-folding or quarter-folding is necessary, an additional $25 per thousand is charged for all inserts larger than 8 1/2 x 11. Save your ad as a PDF file, with all fonts embedded.
Use Grayscale or CMYK images, not RGB. This is the best way to submit an ad. If you cant create a PDF, you can try saving it in one of the following file types, listed in order of preference: QuarkXpress (v4.1 or under) Include all fonts and graphics files. Dont use 3rd-party extensions. Adobe Illustrator (v8.0 or under) Convert type to paths. EPS embed all fonts and images. InDesign (CS2) Include all fonts and graphics files. JPEG if all else fails. ARTWORK AND PHOTOS

Include all artwork and photos if they are not embedded in the file. Save line art as a bitmap .tif or .eps @ 300-600 dpi. Save B&W or color photos as a grayscale or CMYK .tif @ 120-170dpi.

ONLINE STORAGE

FONTS

If fonts are not embedded in the ad, include font suitcases and printer fonts, Truetype or Postscript (must be Mac OS9 compatible).

Some people prefer to use online file storage services. Send us an email with a link to the file, any instructions or passwords needed, as well as a contact phone number in case we have trouble getting the file.

COLOR ADS 4-Color Process and Spot Color

4-color Ads Save your ad as a PDF file, with all fonts embedded. Make sure to save artwork as CMYK, not RGB. Spot Color Ads must be submitted as a PDF file, with CYAN substituted for the Pantone color. Or as a Quark or InDesign file with the correct Pantone color settings. Include a low-res JPEG for color reference.

COMPRESSION

You can use compression programs such as Aladdin DropStuff, Mac Zip, or Win Zip. The file extension should be .sit or .zip

Include your account name in the subject line, and paper it is to run in. In the body of the email, list the following: your ad reps name the publication(s) your ad is running in the size and date(s) the ad is to run
