Software to be used by 1st year students:- AutoCad

Problem 1:

Limousine is the embodiment of luxury in the automobile industry.

The first thought which comes to mind whenever luxury cars are
talked about is a Limousine. Whether it is comfort or its regal
nature the limousine is no competition.
Design a Limousine including your own innovations and creativity
making it better in its looks and appeal.

Problem 2:Speed at its very best!!!!.......... The Bullet train since it has come
into existence is the one name in the domain of railway transport
that is associated with sheer speed and sleek aerodynamic finish.

Design a bullet train with its accessories.

The best way to defend yourself is to destroy your opponent.

Vehicles of destruction!!!!........... Armoured cars as they were in
the movie Death Race are meant for annihilation and
destruction.
Design an armoured car with all the firepower and speed to run
over your enemy. The must parts are wheels, seats, steering,
weapons, shields, exhaust, windows & doors. The innovation and
creativity in terms of weaponry and shields will be considered in
the judgement.

Problem 1:-

Bikes rule the roads!!!!....Design a Concept Bike that may or may

not exist. Innovate the design to improve the ergonomy of the user
as well as the performance of the bike. The must parts are: Wheels,
handle, head light, fuel tank, seat, exhaust and the suspension
system.
Problem 2:-

Engine is the heart of an automobile. It is the power house which

makes a vehicle move. Design the working model of a multicylinder engine with the essential components being the cylinder,
piston, crankshaft, camshaft and valve mechanism.

1. All the designs must be in strict accordance with the problem

statement and must adhere to the requirements of the essential
components.
2.Maximum number of members in a team :
1st year : 02
2nd year : 02
3rd year : 01
3. There will be two rounds. The first one would be to submit the
problem statement given above and the next round will be an onspot round to design a problem which will be given there itself. The
scores will be cumulative and thus, all those who will be submitting
the solution of the problems of the first round will be considered
for the second round.
4. The participants can go for any 3D featured CAD software
(CATIA/ProE/AutoCad etc.).However, for the problems for 1st year
students only AutoCad is allowed. Inter-software importings are
allowed.
5. The feasibility of the design features is mandatory. The
precedence
of
the
other
parameters
is:
Innovation>Economy>Accessibility=Accuracy
of
assemblies,
placements etc. The type of the CAD software used has no role to
play.

6. The participants are required to prepare the presentation to

market your design consisting of parts details, validation of the
new feature(if incorporated). It should not exceed 10 slides.
7. The decision of the judges will be final.
