La Casa de Esperanza Receives $10,000 AT&T Innovation

Award to Support Childrens Education Programs
AT&T Donation Will Help La Casa Purchase and Update Technology and Curriculum
WAUKESHA, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 La Casa de Esperanza was presented today with a $10,000
AT&T Innovation & Investment Award to help support their Childrens Education Programs. The AT&T
donation will help La Casa purchase and update technology, curriculum and related materials, and supplies
for their Childrens Education Programs.
La Casa de Esperanza is deeply committed to ensuring all children have the opportunity to achieve academic
success and pursue higher education, said Anselmo Villarreal, President & CEO of La Casa de Esperanza.
For more than 48 years, we have provided quality early childhood programs to help disadvantaged children
and their families achieve the American dream. We are very pleased to be able to enhance our educational
programming thanks to the generous support of AT&T.
Through its Childrens Education Programs, La Casa serves those students most at risk of not succeeding
academically, and subsequently, not being able to have opportunities available to them. In addition to early
childhood programs, La Casa also provides before and after school programs, summer programs, and
wraparound educational support.
La Casas current program participants are 49% Hispanic, 36% Caucasian, 13% African American and 2%
identifying as other. In addition, over 86% of children served are living in poverty as indicated by their
eligibility for free and reduced priced meals.
