NOTES TO THE EDITOR:

We are inaugurating a new column as the last issue generated several fun
e-mail notes from all over the map. [Mouse update: while they are no
longer in my cabinet, they have found the wine bottles and eaten off some
of the foil, war is declared!] Here are a few of my favorite notes:
1. From Sharon Springs, NY:
Just a quick one after scanning the chatter, try Peppermint oil or mint oil in
your drawers - Mice HATE the smell of mint! When I get a chance, I may
even offer some Mouse away bags at the Cobbler :)
Warmest Regards,
Julie Herzog

2. From Vergennes, Vermont:
Makes me feel as if I were in Sharon Springs! Hope we can come visit
soon! XXOO
Pennie Beach, Basin Harbor Club, Vergennes, VT
3. From Helsingborg, Sweden:
Again a super job and lots of historical infofun that you ended with the
mice story! HUGS,
Susan Boman Moman
4. From Las Vegas, NV
As usual, nicely done. There was one more name you could have added
on the Sharon Tavern article, Lee Montoni. He owned the place between
Dorsey's and Mike and Helen B. I used to wait in this place, in the winter
evenings, for the spectator bus that was going to the Basketball games. I
can remember playing shuffleboard for a nickel, then a dime, on the
machine in there when we were in lower grade school. Dick Herman was
my first opponent. LOL
Have a great fall.
