USAGE AND CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT
RULES OF BEHAVIOR FOR INFORMATION SYSTEMS USAGE AND CONFIDENTIAL
INFORMATION
HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company Limited is responsible for safeguarding its IT computing
systems, network and information assets in a reasonable and economically feasible way against
unauthorized access and/or abuse, while making them accessible for authorized and legitimate users.
This responsibility includes informing users on expected code of conduct and the punitive measure for
not adhering to them. The users shall protect the confidential information relating to HDFC Life, which
includes but not limited to:
1. Information related to Production processes, marketing techniques and arrangements, mailing lists,
purchasing, pricing policies, quoting procedure, financial information, employee data, customer data,
supplier data, distributor data, price lists and other materials or information relating to HDFC Life
business and activities and the manner in which it does business.
2. Computer software, whether now or hereafter existing, developed for use on an operating system
or machine, all modifications, enhancements and versions and all options available with respect
thereto, and all future products developed and derived there from.
3. Source and object code of software, flowcharts, algorithms, coding sheets, routines, sub-routines,
compilers, assemblers, design concepts and related documentation and manuals.
4. Discoveries, concepts and ideas including, without limitation to the nature and results of research
and development activities, processes, formulae, inventions, computer related equipment or
technology techniques, "know how" designs, drawings and specifications.
5. All other material or information related to the business or related activities of HDFC Life, which are
not generally known to others engaged in similar business or activities.
6. All ideas which are derived from or are related to Individual access to or knowledge of any of the
enumerated materials and information, and
7. All information about or belonging to suppliers and clients and/or all parties to any agreement with
HDFC Life which would be confidential information pursuant to the above definition if such or other
parties were in the position of HDFC Life.
8. The rules of behavior contained in this document are to be followed by all users (employee, partner,
vendor and third party) of HDFC Life resources. Users will be held accountable for their actions while
using HDFC Life resources. Any attempt to violate these rules will result in disciplinary action at the

8. Systems are not provided with DVD/CD ROM drives, unless explicitly authorized.
9. External storage devices are prohibited in HDFC Life, unless explicitly authorized.
10. Access to internet is restricted based on user roles and responsibilities.
11. Usage of HDFC Life systems and resources will be monitored for security compliance.
12. Access to Corporate mailing system is provided to all users for business purpose only. Kindly
follow the e-mail usage guidelines available on intranet Site.
13. Users are not allowed to install any software without consultation of IT Support.
14. Laptop Usage agreement must be signed by the user for laptop usage. The agreement is
available on intranet Site.
15. Blackberry service is provided to designated users for business purpose and users should comply
with Blackberry Usage Agreement. The agreement is available on intranet Site.
16. Playing games, listening music, watching obscene material on HDFC Life Systems is a violation of
the security policy and a disciplinary action will be taken against the violator.
17. Users should report any security Incident / weakness at
helpdesk@hdfclife.com/infosec@hdfclife.com.

UNDERTAKING
I have carefully read and considered the contents of this undertaking and having done so,
acknowledge that the restrictions set forth are fair and reasonably required for the protection of the
