AQUINO CONDUCTS INTENSIVE TRAINING ON ACTION RESEARCH WRITING
Pangasinan Division II Education Program Supervisor in-charge of Action Research Dr.
Cornelio R. Aquino spearheaded the Intensive Seminar-Workshop on the Conduct of Action
Researches to elementary grade teachers in the division, November 27-29, 2013 at Event Center,
SM Rosales, Rosales, Pangasinan.
The training aimed to present a perspective of the present and modern conduct of action
research and to introduce contemporary and updated strategies and methodologies in research.
Participants in the training were chairmen and members of the district committee on
action researches and teachers from both central and non-central schools.
Problems related to education deserve urgent attention and appropriate solutions be
generated through effective action researches so that teachers are strongly encouraged in
addressing these problems and contributing to change in the system, thus stressed Aquino in his
opening remarks on the first day of the training.
The lectures included: The Meaning and Purpose of Action Research and its difference
to Formal Research discussed by Mr. Leody S. Tagulao; Qualities and Characteristics of a
Researcher by Dr. Evelyn Biay; the Research Process by Mrs. Leonilyn M. Corona; Importance
of Action Research in Teaching by Mr. Rommel O. Casabar; Characteristics of Research
Problem by Mrs. Myla V. Lalicon; Developing Good Writing Skills in Research by Mrs. Vivien
R. De Guzman; Types and Classifications of Researches by Mr. Eddie M. Raguindin; Tools in
the Conduct of Action Researches by Mrs. Daisy S. Mayola and the Conduct of an Action
Research by Dr. Cornelio R. Aquino.
The same training is slated January 13-15, 2014 at the same venue for teachers in the
secondary schools of the division.
