HMEF5123- MODELS AND STRATEGIES OF TEACHING
ASSIGNMENT (100%)

OBJECTIVE:
The assignment is intended to provide you the opportunity to:
a)

explore a variety of readings and understand key issues based on selected readings.

b)

review and modify a teaching and learning plan specifically for a group of learners .

The assignment consists of two (2) related tasks. The details of the tasks are explained below:
TASK I : LESSON PLAN REVIEW (50 marks)
Browse the internet and select a lesson plan based on any one of the family of models
(information processing, social, personal and behavioural). Review the lesson plan and discuss
how the lesson plan is able to highlight the aspects or principles pertaining to the selected family
of model. Support your views with related literature readings .
TASK II : LESSON PLAN MODIFICATION (50 marks)
Assume you are now required to use this lesson plan in your class. However you feel that you
may need to make some changes or improvements to meet the needs and demands of the
curriculum as well as the students.
Based on the above, prepare a report which includes the following:
(a)

Description of your learners. (10 marks)


Description of the modified lesson plan ( 20 marks)
Changes or modification made to the lesson plan. (10 marks)
Teaching aids and Worksheet ( 10 marks )

Assessment Criteria
Your response to each task will be graded separately based on the scoring scheme attached.
For maximum credit, be sure that your response addresses each of the scoring criteria
components.

Additional Guidelines

Your assignment should be typed on A4 paper using 12 pt Times New Roman and 1.5
spacing.
You are to submit a softcopy of your assignment on-line through myVLE and a hardcopy to
your facilitator.
Documents to be submitted are:
(1) Lesson plan ( original version from the internet)
(2) Modified lesson plan
(3) Teaching aids sample
Plagiarised assignment will be rejected.
