SCREW JACK

AIM:
To make different parts of a Screw Jack and assemble them.

SOFTWARE REQUIRED:
Autodesk inventor professional 2008

PROCEDURE:
Starting Autodesk inventor and Creating new Part
1. Start Autodesk inventor professional 2008.
2. Select File from the menu bar.
Then select Projects. A window will open.
Select the project where you want to save your work. Then click Done.
Then select New. A window will open.
Go to Metric and select Standard.ipt.
Part window will be displayed.

Sketching Body:
1. Click a New Part.
2. Click- Metric then click on Standard(mm).ipt.
3. Click on Create.
4. Give appropriate name
5. Now draw a sketch as shown in figure.
6. Now click on return button.
7. Now click on revolve tool from the panel.
8. Revolve the sketch by 360 degree.
9. Now use the thread tool for threading.

9. Now we are ready with base.

Sketching Spindle :
1. Create a new part and name as Spindle.
2. Make the figure in sketching as shown.
3. Now click on return button.
4. Now choose the revolve tool to revolve the sketching.
5. Now use the threading tool to give the thread to the part.
6. Now again do sketching on the part till formed.
7. Extrude that sketching and use remove the material.
8. In this way we are ready with the Spindle.

Sketching Screw :
1. Create a new part and name as Screw.
2. Make the figure in sketching as shown.
3. Now click on return button.
4. Now choose the revolve tool to revolve the sketching.
5. Now use the threading tool to give the thread to the part.
6. Now again do sketching on the part till formed.
7. Extrude that sketching and use remove the material.
8. In this way we are ready with the Screw.

Sketching Washer 1:
1. Create a new part and name as Washer 1.
2. Make the figure in sketching as shown.
3. Now click on return button.
4. Now choose the revolve tool to revolve the sketching.
5. Now again do sketching on the part which was formed as shown in figure.
6. Now extrude it and uses remove the material.
7. Then select different plane and do sketching as shown.
8. Extrude that with appropriate dimension and uses remove the material.
9. Now we are ready with Washer 1.

Sketching Washer 2:
1. Create a new part and name as Washer 2.
2. Make the figure in sketching as shown.
3. Now click on return button.
4. Now choose the revolve tool to revolve the sketching.
5. Now we are ready with Washer 2.

Sketching Shaft:

1. Create a new part and name as Shaft.


2. Make the figure in sketching as shown.
3. Now click on return button.
4. Now choose the revolve tool to revolve the sketching.
5. Now we are ready with Shaft.

ASSEMBLY:
Assembly of Washer 2:
1. Select File from menu bar.
Then select New. A window will open.
Go to Metric and select Standard.iam.
2. Assembly window will be displayed.
3. Select Place Component command from the assembly panel. A window will open.
4. Select body to place it in the assembly window. All other parts will be assembled on
it.
5. Select Place Component command from the assembly panel. A window will open.
Select washer 2 to place it in assembly window.
6. Now select the constrained box from the window panel.
7. Now select the mate constrain to make the washer be on the body.
8. In this way washer 2 is assembled to the body.

Assembly of Spindle:
1. Click on place component tool and select the part Spindle.
2. Now click on constrain tool.
3. Use angle constrain to make the spindle in axis with body.
4. Now use insert constrain to insert it into the body.
5. In this way spindle is assembled.

Assembly of Screw:
1. Click on place component tool and select the screw.
2. Now click on constrain tool.
3. Select the mate constrains and mate screw with spindle.
4. Then make their axis constrain by using angle constrain.
5. In this way Screw is assembled.

Assembly of Washer 1:
1. Click on place component tool and select the washer1.
2. Now click on constrain tool.
3. Now use the mate constrain two times between washer1 and spindle.
4. In this way washer 1 is assembled.

Assembly of Shaft:
1. Click on place component tool and select Shaft.
2. Now click on constraint tool.
3. Choose the angle constrain so that shaft comes in the axis of the hole in the
spindle.
4. Now use mate constrain between shaft and spindle.
5. In this way shaft is assembled.

Now we are ready with SCREW JACK..
