8.0 Testing Procedure for IDMT type Current Relay

8.1 Pickup Test:

Connect the Relay to ARTU/S unit as shown in Diagram.

Connect appropriate DC supply to Relay from Fixed DC Voltage O/P
terminals (30).

Connect Mains to ATRU/S unit.

Switch ON Mains Switch (2) Timer ON switch

Start the Timer and start increasing the current using V-I Control (2)
and observe the PKP indication of the relay.

Note down the reading for I1 on V/I/ Meter.

Repeat procedure for other I/Ps and other settings.

8.2 Time Test:

Keep relay on desired setting.

Connect Alarm contact of the relay to STOP terminal (14).

Adjust current to required value using V-I control (2) by setting the
timer.

Switch ON Timer Switch (8) and press START push button (9), this
will automatically inject the current to the relay.

Timer will start counting the time delay.

Timer will stop counting as soon as relay gets the trip command.

Note down the time value.

Repeat the procedure for different settings.
