Job Description:
This position is subject to Caltrans Internal Hiring Freeze requirements. Preference will be given to hires
from within Caltrans and/or persons with State Restriction of Appointment (SROA) or Surplus status.

Transportation (Department) to improve the mobility across California by being innovative and flexible;

members and others; and treating others fairly, honestly and respectfully. Your efforts are important to
each member of the team, as well as those we serve.
Under the general direction of the Chief, Office of Planning and Management, the Senior Right of Way
Agent provides staff assistance to the Division of Right of Way (R/W) Headquarters (HQ) and leadership
to the Region/District R/W Offices by being (1) the Statewide Liaison for Corridor Mobility Improvement
Account (CMIA)/Proposition 1B (1B) Projects for the Division of R/W in right of way matters concerning
project status and (2) the person responsible for keeping the Planning and Management (P&M) Academy
curriculum up-to-date; coordinating/conducting other P&M training; facilitating meetings for the P&M
Office; and completing assigned special projects.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
50% (E) Conducts Quarterly Status of Projects (SOP) Teleconferences/Video Teleconferences (VTC) with
the districts to address right of way issues related to scope, cost, and schedule of CMIA/1B Projects and
coordinate follow-up action items regarding 1B project audits; attend, as backup, the HQ Project Delivery
CMIA/1B Bond Status Meeting; ensure Expenditure Authorizations are set up correctly; attend HQ Project
Change Request Meetings; and establish guidelines necessary to ensure that 1B R/W files are being
maintained properly.
25% (E) Oversees all HQ training for the P&M Office, which includes continuous improvement for the P&M
Academy curriculum, and works as a co-instructor at the One Week R/W Academy for P&M and Project
Coordination.
10% (E) Updates the P&M R/W Manual, facilitates meetings for the P&M Office, Hot Topics Meetings, and
Functional Councils, completes special projects and assignments specific to P&M.
