about me
My name is Lorenzo Minischetti.
I am an Italian American graphic designer.
I graduated in 2013 in Industrial Design (Graphic Design major) at the Politecnico di
Bari (Italy), with a degree mark of 107 on 110. Previously, I obtained my High School
Diploma at Liceo Artistico De Nittis in Bari (Art School).
I am interested in manual and digital drawing on different materials; I love
typography, calligraphy, proof-reading, publishing, bookbinding, eco-design,
packaging, illustration, photo editing, photoretouch, color theory, visual perception.
I have strong skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign.
In 2010 I took part in Retype, a typography workshop with Giovanni Lussu.
Between 2011 and 2012 I joined Mani Cucite, a manual bookbinding workshop held
by Zabar.
In 2013 I took part in LETSPUBLISH, a workshop staged by Spazio 314, in Lecce
(Italy). Part of the workshop (printing techniques and serigraphy) was held by
Atelier Vostok, a graphic design studio from Milan and Barcelona created by Alexis
Rom and Claude Marzotto.
In November 2013 I moved to New York City and in January 2014 I started working
for the Creative Office of Century 21 Dept Stores in Manhattan as a graphic design
intern.
From June to September 2014 I worked as Graphic Designer at QNY Creative, a
branding agency.
In October 2014 I started freelancing with Evol Design Llc in New York.

calligraphy
I really enjoy experiencing different
kind of calligraphy (Old English,
Fraktur, Roundhand Copperplate,
Japanese) with a pointed pen, a Pilot
brush, Tombow brush or (my favorite)
a Fudenosuke hard-brush pen.

I enjoy digital calligraphy as well

making use of a graphic tablet.
I can proudly say that Im obsessed
with letters and I have a very sharp
typo-spotting skill.

I do digital calligraphy using two

different methods:
1. I draw on paper, scan the image,
then I retrace it with Illustrator and
color it with Photoshop
2. I write completely in digital using
the Wacom Intuos pen tablet

illustration
I firmly believe that the best design
tools are: pencil, marker, brush, eraser,
paper, ink.
Regardless the computer.

photo editing
Adobe Photoshop and LightRoom
are very useful in the enhancing,
restoration or montage of good
pictures. I enjoy handling .raw format
pictures and I studied the HDR photo
merging technique.

branding
Consistency, cutting edge logos,
technique ability, creativity and good
skills in photo-retouched mockups can
lead to a great product positioning.

mockups
It is very important to provide the client
with a clear replica of what the product
should look like.

extra
Besides graphic design I studied
industrial design.
In 2011 I designed a virtual model of a
single-frame plastic cake slicer.
With a CAM 3D printer I had the
chance to produce the ready-to-use
ABS plastic prototype.
The utensil was surprisingly easy and
useful.
In 2012 I hand-made a clock lamp
using my old guitar, recycled stuff and
a cheap alarm clock.
I play bass guitar and I love long
mountain bike rides.
