Reference Database
ALPINEs references from all over the world
compiled in one database

Reference data base: A huge archive for references with

technical data, pictures and more, compiled in one
database.
The reference database was completely restructured in autumn 2009 after many years and is proud
not only to introduce some of its new functions, but also to join the latest technologies on the market.

and reflect a professional image to the country and its
people
The tender submission date gets closer and you know, that this kind of project has already been implemented a couple of times within your company. But where? And what was that again? Who has the
information? Who can provide me pictures? This was a complicated undertaking so far, but the reference data base provides a fast possibility to access the data and use them accordingly.

The crux of the matter for chaos within data and

pictures
Once the construction project has been started, the tendering phase is concluded and all data have
been provided, you start searching and making phone calls in the hope that you can get pictures,
technical data and more for already existent construction sites. Frequently you run through a maze of
numbers, responsibilities and sometimes you are rewarded with the required information.

As a rule, pictures are taken and saved almost

Geodata and integrated digital maps for the localization

and waynding
Often you read about rather interesting construction sites, about the place, but still you do not know
exactly where to find it or how the site area does look like. Exact addresses are a luxury during the
construction phase and even then a navigation system does not help. The reference database provides
a digital map to mark the object.

From a building plan to a complete reference and its

presentation
In 2006, the reference database in its former version was developed and launched for the ALPINE ERP
Client with Microsoft NET 2.0. Since then its popularity has been increasing from year to year and the
advantages of its use have been pointed out and recognized.
In autumn 2009, it became pioneer for other applications within the ERP Client due to the implementation of state of the art technologies and visual updates. The reference database is based today on
Microsoft NET programming as well, but it is supported by WPF and WCF technologies.
In the course of the years approx. 4000 references were compiled, from which approx. 50% were processed last year with approx. 6.500 corresponding documents and high-resolution pictures.
The integration of the reference database into the global project management makes it possible to
use in this application the shared global ID and allows a trouble-free and easy change to other
applications.
The direct data link to the tender tracking saves the user a multiple entering of generally valid data
like construction place, construction period, planner, employer, etc. and will be displayed in the reference after marking the tender as closed and confirming it.
The wealth of possibilities to feed each reference with information, whether technical, striking or
administrative information, allow an accurate search by certain references, as well as detail reports
adapted to the standard layout of ALPINE as well.
By means of the so-called difference list it is possible for every user to see anytime which tenders already marked as closed would be ready to create a reference. At the moment there are approx. 2.500
project numbers in the potential list, which, however after considering the diverse small road construction projects or similar must be reduced by a percentage of approx. 15%.
The reference database is as important as the tender tracking for a trouble-free and consistent project
performance by ALPINE.
