Overview of EMS Standards for Organisations,

Certifiers & Accreditation Bodies
National accreditation bodies (e.g. UKAS in the UK) assess
that certification bodies are applying ISO 17021 and IAF/ EA
Guidance consistently. Accreditation bodies operate under
multi-lateral agreements with peer reviews to ensure
consistency.
Certification Bodies use ISO 17021) supplemented
by International Accreditation
Forum & European co-operation for Accreditation guidance.

Organisations use BS EN ISO 14001

as the framework for their EMS
