Kathrein, the specialist for antenna systems, uses Fieldbook E1 rugged tablets
from LOGIC INSTRUMENT for GPS-based azimuth alignment
LOGIC INSTRUMENT, the expert for rugged mobile computing, supports Kathrein, the
worlds market leader in the field of antenna systems, with its rugged Fieldbook E1 tablet for
GPS-based azimuth alignment of mobile radio antennas.
To
have
an
exact
parameter
measurement for the position, altitude
and azimuth orientation, an optimal
signal reception as well as a wireless
communication are necessary. A sensor
unit, mounted either between the mast
and antenna or directly attached with a
belt, fulfills the first requirement. Then,
LOGIC INSTRUMENTs rugged Android
tablet, Fieldbook E1, enables the WiFi
connection to create the job tasks.
Location and project data are entered
into the companys own Kathrein
Android App. A barcode on the back of
the antenna gives further information that can be read easily with the integrated barcode
scanner of the Fieldbook. The rugged tablet offers great benefits as to the documentation of
the position and the location of the antenna: Stored GPS parameters are immediately
displayed on a map and photos of the location are directly inserted into the report. The
results can be saved in secured PDF or XML format and easily sent by email. In addition, the
sunlight readable Fieldbook E1 defies drops up to 1.80 meters height - perfect for those
outdoor conditions.
