Topic: Modeling and Simulation of Wavy Surface Plate Fin Compact Heat Exchanger.
Objective: The objective of the work was to present a manual method for thermal design
of wavy surface plate fin heat exchangers based on physically meaningful estimations,
calculations and comparisons .To develop a step by step design methodology for a wavy
surface plate fin heat exchanger. Then to study the performance of wavy plate fin compact
heat exchanger by simulating the wavy fin surface at designed condition. To provide
examples to demonstrate the methods and present results to highlight the opportunities and
limitations of the considered methods.
Design/methodology/approach: Engineering methods based on thermal balances and
correlations has been used for the thermal design of Compact Heat Exchanger as well as
CFD based methods has been used for the numerical modelling of a of wavy fin surface.
Finally the domain was simulated in Fluent 6.3.26 to find the thermal-hydraulic
performance of compact heat exchanger issues.
This research has potential for application in Air-conditioning and Chemical Process industry.

Design of Cam System through GUI (Graphical User Interface) generated by Matlab
Programming.
Feb09-May09
In this project a systematic approach has been developed to design a roller follower cam system by
considering the different aspects of cam such as strength, kinematic stability and its response to
external actuation. Subsequently the whole methodology was coded in MATLA B for GUI. In
GUI incorporation were made to plot the profile of cam, velocity, acceleration, and follower
response curve.

Topic: Design and Fabrication of Sliding Pin Power Transmission Drive.
Objective: To design, fabricate and analyze an alternative power transmission drive
capable of power transmission between two coplanar and perpendicular shafts.
Results: Designed system was better than Bevel gear in terms of Cost of Manufacturing,
Ease of Maintenance and lubrication but inferior in terms of size and efficiency.
