The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development offers learning and development support, services
and resources for Victoria children, young people and adults.
The SRP system allocates and tracks the expenditure of $6 billion of funding allocated to Victorian schools, this
represents around 50% of the DEECD budget.

Senior PM: Student Resource Planning (SRP)


Long running problematic project (3 years). Project handed over to Adrian and significantly turned around.
The Schools Resource Allocation Branch (SRAB) of Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
(DEECD) is responsible for allocating funds to Victorian Government Schools.
Funding is provided to schools through the Student Resource Package (SRP). The SRP is an annual budget
allocation that is periodically updated during the year and distributes funds equitably and transparently based on
student characteristics, school size, infrastructure and location.
Existing legacy systems consist of set of complex, interdependent and tightly coupled system components that have
been progressively developed over many years to meet the changing needs of the Department.
The SRP renewal project was replacing the SRP Salary expenditure and related processing with a CRM solution that
will be integrated to the existing SRP web custom portal, and flexible rules engine that allows business users to rapidly
respond to changing HR and funding policies.

Senior PM: Provision, Inventory and Service Management System (PRISM)
Long running problematic project (3 years). Project handed over to Adrian and was successfully delivered to UAT.
This project involved delivering the Provision, Inventory & Service Management System (PRISM) to provide and
manage the information shared by all PRISM Service Domains and Organisations (Schools, Contractors etc) with
capability for the Data Relationship module to integrate with other DEECD data repositories, namely: IDAM,
eduMaster, eduPay, Oracle (Timesheet approvers, invoice payers, notebook allocation), Financials (Funding,
Invoices, Payments, Notebook salary contributions), and Human Resources (staff details, leave history).

Upgrade project. Upgrade of the Entity Register based on CRM 4.0 and integrated to backend systems to CRM 2011.

The Bushfire ICT Project was initiated as part of the governments response to the 2009 Bushfires Royal Commission.
The program of work including infrastructure upgrades, increased throughput capacity in the departments core
systems including IRIS, FireWeb and FireMap, improvements in functionality and single sign on access mechanisms
for these systems has been underway since that time. The project had four key objectives. They were:

Provide the ability to share, in real time, relevant bushfire management information.

Contribute to the implementation of the governments response to the 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal
Commission.

Support the Fire Services Commissioners Reform Program.

Establish a model for emergency Information exchange for all hazards, all agencies management.

Budget $1.4M- Project to implement CRM for VIC business with integrations to AS400 and external systems. Initial
responsibility was to engage with Avanade / IBM / Deloitte to design and deliver local CRM solution based on
Microsoft platform for VIC/TAS pilot and move to production for all states. Solution integrated fully with the current
AS400. Role involves managing various stakeholders expectations to understand business drivers and act as PM for
the various team engaged from Vendor secondments. The project GoLive has been achieved and signed-off including
signoff on all integration and data migration.
