Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 1-3; James 1

2 Cor. 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one
died for all, then were all dead:

Psa. 22:1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from
helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

Rom. 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the
flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Constraining and Loving Savior:

How much I owe you my love! You died on the crossfor me! You have
forgiven my sins even right now. You cover me with a robe of righteousness in
exchange for my dirty rags.
Psa. 40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set
my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
You set my feet on a rock and order my steps by your word. You are
preparing heaven for me, and right now you are preparing me for heaven. I
cannot count all the blessings you give me, and besides all that, you have stored
up a supply of mercies on top. Help me do something worthy of your love, and
that is to witness! To testify. To simply tell __________ and __________. To
present a word-offering about a dying Redeemer.
How ashamed I will be if you return today, and it turns out I kept my love
dammed-up like a stagnant pool. If I have to confess I did nothing for you today,
then I will be ashamed. If I said nothing to exalt you in the eyes of others. What
will you think of a love that never shows itself in service?
Prov. 27:5 Open rebuke is better than secret love.
How will you accept a love that is so weak it will not witness, or will not
drive me to some deed of self-denial? Make me a hero of holy zeal! Oh to think
how you loved me and gave your hearts blood for me! So let me now show the
power of that love. Sweep out the dust of worldliness in my life. Clear away the
mists of sin in my heart. For Christs sake let a tongue of fire fall on me. Give
wings to my witness and strength to my ministry for you even this week. Amen.

My Mighty Sufferer and King of Glory:

Why? Why? Surely your attention centered on that word, why. So I also turn
my eyes that way, because you want me to examine the whys and the wherefores
of your grief. I want to think much of your passion and all you suffered, but I
must not overlook the reasons for it. If I cannot always understand how this
grief, or that disappointment, works toward your overall purpose and plan, yet I
must believe it has its share in the grand why. When I feel alone and abandoned I
will make my life-study that bitter but blessed question, why hast thou forsaken me?
At the bottom line of things, your love never endsjust like the love of the
Father to you never stopped, and never even dimmed. Restrained in its flow? It
will sometimes always be so. This is not the Millennium yet. Jesus reigns but
Satan rules. We have a spiritual warfare to complete before all is well. And yet,
the love is never lessened at its source. There are only certain times I cant receive
it. Therefore, I need not panic at periodic abandonment.
But what is the outcome? If for a moment your manhood was confused,
your mind was yet clear because you said, It is finished. Why did God forsake his
Son? Because Jesus stood in my place. There was no reason in you Jesus, why
the Father should forsake you. The reasons lie with me, with my sins. You were
perfect, and God never acts without a reason. Since there were no reasons in your
own character or person (nor could there be), then I find the cause in myself.
My sin. Your taking it. That is the answer to the question. That is why! Once
you comprehended it, you did not argue. You bowed your head in submission.
You gave your hearts blood for my salvation. I love you for your passion. Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 4-6; James 2
Thursday, November 13

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY

Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 7-9; James 3
Friday, November 14

Holy Lord My God:

I have too much of sin still around me and inside me. Go on and crucify it.
Help me reckon it to be dead because Jesus did crucify it, and then help me to
make it dead as I mortify it. May I stop treating it like a living thing to be fed and
have provision made for. No! Now that it is crucified, help me just to bury it.
I should make sure that my baptism was no lie. I was buried into Jesus
death, with all the fullness of his deadening power. It was a sacred burial of
fellowship with Christ. So now Lord, give me more of new life! Let me have it
more abundantly. Step me up to the next level by your Spirit.
I ask you to let the life of Christ always rule me. I want to walk by its
power. Give me strength through its influence. Elevate me through its energy. I
want to be entirely conquered and ruledas to my own personhoodby the
control of the Holy Ghost through the word of God. I pant for that today!
I ask especially that I might be in the Spirit as I take care of my business.
Help me to do nothing after the ideas of the old, dead man.

May there be no dead song in my heart

May there be no dead prayer in my mouth

May there be no dead message out of my life to others

Give me a burning and flaming gospel for the lost, and give my hearers life
as I explain to them the cross. Let my whole life be living worship, in spirit and in
truth. I dont just bow my head; I bow my heart to you right now. I dont want to
just close my eyes; I want to be blind to the world and able to see the realities of
faith. I ask for this in hope, by Jesus Christ. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 10-12; James 4
Saturday, November 15

Psalm 145:5 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy
mighty acts.

O SOUL, are you weary and troubled?

No light in the darkness you see?
Theres a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!
Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion
For more than conquerors we are!
His Word shall not fail youHe promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Helen H. Lemmel, 1922

Rom. 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The
grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Psa. 97:1 The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad
thereof.

Gracious God and Giving Lord Jesus:

It looks like we will be conformed to your image, both in being bruised in
our heels (Gen 3:15), as well as in being victorious over Satan. Even under our
feet the Dragon will be bruised. Finally! Obviously we are living the prequel, and
the power of his Matrix will be broken when you get back.
Rom. 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things
wherewith one may edify another.
Lord, we are grieved by strife when it appears in the church. But you are
the God of peace. The unity and harmony that make for peace come only from
you. Satan searches for ways to trip the feet of the unwary, and deceive the hearts
of the nave, but in the end he gets the worst of it and will be trodden-down by
those of us he has troubled. This victory would not be complete if done in the
flesh of our own work or power. You will bruise Satanbut under our feet!
Heb. 13:20-21 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord
Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you
perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight,
through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Help us bravely march out for the day. Not only demons, but also the
Prince of darkness himself has to give way before us! Give us unquestioning
confidence in your word, and let us not rely on our own evaluations or emotions.
We love that word, shortly. What a dishonor to the Devil to have his head bruised
by our soles. Do it soon! Let us by faith today tread the tempter down. We ask it
for Jesus sake, that he may be glorified in us when he returns. Amen.

Reigning Lord of Glory:

The essence of salvation is that the LORD reigneth. Jesus has finally come, and
all power will be given to him. Therefore everyone is interactive and involved,
because everyone is invited to obey and place their faith in him.
How many other reigns have produced injustice! There is oppression, terror
and bloodshed across the globe today. The only hope of humanity is the reign
of the Lord. Lord, you are my maker, come and own me today. You bring
untold blessings to all who will submit to you.
Psa. 97:12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance
of his holiness.
Absolute power is safe in the hands of him who cannot act unjustly or
make any mistakes. You are without unholiness. So your presence in me, reigning
in power, is a fire to consume-away my lusts and melt my will in obedience. Fill
me with holy fear, while at the same time the warmth of your grace softens me to
repentance, brings me to surrender, and molds me to full obedience.
The saints are safe. If I truly love you Lord, I will see your love revealed to
me in protection, correction, instruction and guidance. Keep me from evil, and
keep evil far from me.
The full harvest is not yet mine, but it has been sown. Right leads to light.
Make me right before you in your righteousness, because that will fuel my
gladness, and then help me call the whole earth to rejoice! Surely saints should
lead your songs of praise. I thank you foremost for salvation from sin (and from
sinning). Help me magnify you ever more for Jesus sake. Amen.

THIS WEEKS EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions

asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

TODAY

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.

Moore. Meets weekly for six more Mondays, 7:00 P.M.

This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.

Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
