birth, eye colour, phone number, NIC number, mothers
maiden name

Number of all directors. Enter home details so these can be
verified with bank account

- Click on register on bottom right, and enter and confirm
email address. Security Code will be sent by email
- Then enter company type (England and Wales) & company
number. Authentication Code will be sent by post to
registered company address (for obvious security reasons)
Will need both Security Code and Authentication Code to file
online forms, annual return etc. Login via companies house
website and provide the following
- email address & Security Code (linked to email)
- company number and Authentication Code (linked to
company) ie need an authentication code for each company

Set up appointment and go into branch. Will take c.2 hours


and will need to go with all cheque signatories
- Incorporation certificate
- Proof of ID and home address for money laundering
purposes (Passport , utility bill < 3months old)
- Recommend HBSC based on ease of use (set up and
online access can have admin access only which is useful
to have admin person keep on top of receipts etc)

government gateway. VAT registration is half way down the
list. Will need
- Date of incorporation / Company Number / Reg Address
- Address of principle place of business
- Business email address
- Name / VAT no of any businesses that director involved in.
- Director Full Name / Home Address / DOB / NI No
Prior home address is less than 3 yrs at current address.
- Brief description of the business and types of goods or
services you will supply
- Estimate of taxable supplies in first next 12 months
- Estimated value of purchases from EU in next 12 months
- Estimated value of sales to EU states in next 12 months
- Date of Vat registration (date of incorporation is earliest)
** Bank account name, sort code, acct no. (otherwise need
to explain why no account & provide evidence in progress)

Register to

www.hmrc.gov.uk Choose on line VAT and enter gateway ID

- effective date of VAT registration (ie date applied)

Corporation
Tax

Following incorporation of the company HMRC will send you


a letter asking for CT41G return. Will need
- Date of accounting period (date registered company)
- Copy of memorandum and articles of association
- Name, home address inc postcode and NI No of all
directors
CT610 Key Dates
Following receipt back to HMRC of CT41G they will send
you CT610 Corporation Tax Key dates. This will highlight
that 2 CT returns will be due. One for first 12 months and
one for remainder of time to year end.
CT603 Notice to deliver tax return
Once the year end has passed HMRC will send you CT603
Notice to deliver Tax return. (Will show you have 9 months
to pay CT due and 10 months to file CT600 CT return).

PAYE
Dispensation

Self Assessment

It is straightforward to apply online for a dispensation from


having to add business expenses to from P11D.
However, you must have an independent system in place for
checking and authorising expenses claims. As a minimum,
this means having someone other than the employee
claiming the expenses to check that the amount claimed
isnt excessive, and doesnt include disallowable items

and provide the following details
- Employer PAYE Reference
- Business name and address
- Email address
- Nature of business
- Number of employees including directors
- Then a tick box exercise for which benefits you want a
dispensation to apply to

All company directors must register for self-assessment to submit for personal
tax return by 31 January each year. If you do not already complete a personal
tax return you can register via the following link
