VIRTUAL SUPRA SAEINDIA 2014-Guidelines to participating Teams
The Virtual SUPRA is a prequalifier to participation in the SUPRA SAEINDIA event.
This event is scheduled on 20th & 21st of SEPTEMBER, 2013. All the teams must be reporting on 19th SEP, 2013 by 15:00 Hrs. Teams are requested to be present in the venue until 21/09/2013 -18:00Hrs. Preliminary Design Reports (PDR) should be sent in CDs to SAEINDIA Office by 10 th September 2013. VENUE: KalingaInstitute of Industrial Technology KIIT UNIVERSITY , BHUBANESWAR ,751024,ODISHA,INDIA Presentation Guidelines Maximum members allowed for the presentation is 5. Maximum number of slides for presentation is 20. Presentation time is for 20 min followed by a 5 min questionnaire session. Teams are required to bring their PPTs in CD format and submit it to SAE India officials. Structure of Presentation 1) Preliminary technical specifications and 2D / 3D views of the proposed design of the SUPRA Vehicle. 2) The teams are required to present following related to SUPRA vehicle. Knowledge of rulebook Design Methodology for Roll Cage Proposed engineering process for Finite Element Analysis loads and constraints, Factor of Safety & deformations. Human Ergonomics knowledge related to vehicle cockpit layout Suspension Design Methodology & considerations for springs, Damper, Links arms design, Centre of gravity, Roll centre, methods to determine and its importance. Steering -Design Methodology & considerations for steering selection, turning circle, wheel Geometry (caster, camber, toe in, toe out) etc. Brakes -Design Methodology & considerations for brakes selection (Disc / drum brakes), brake layout/actuation, braking efficiency, pedal force etc Power train (Engine to wheel including tyres) & mounting considerations, Vehicle Performance specifications e.g. Vehicle speed, Acceleration etc. Safety equipments ratings Overall Performance Targets and validation procedure List of static & dynamic tests. 3) Project Plan 4) Team -Organisation chart 5) College workshop facilities for manufacturing vehicle & overall cost elements/ estimates and financing for the project. All teams must carry the following things and produce them at the time of their registration: College ID card SAE ID Card Passport size picture An MS - Excel Sheet stating the names of the team members in the way they want it on the certificates.
