children in a class could have a learning disability and need special attention This movie deals so beautifully with the problem of dyslexia. A good movie in the sense that it has handled this problem in such a sensitive and delicate manner. It is not a depressing movie, it does leave you teary eyed at times, but the message is so clear. Any parent or school authority that sees this film will hopefully handle such different children differently.
Taare Zameen Par- a meaningful film for education Taare Zameen Par a meaningful film for education Actually, I could not hold back my tears, when I saw the ending of the film Taare zameen Par with a boy- Ishaan is the main character. I just want to say that it is a wonderful and meaningful film. After watched it, I had many changes in my thought about teaching for children. - Firstly, as a teacher in the future, patient is necessary when students make mistakes or naughty. It is impossible to scold, beat or kick them out the class as a punishment. That will make the students naughtier or hate the teacher and do not want to go to school. - Secondly, I wonder that how do the teacher become a friend with the students? I cant answer before I watched this film. And now, I can see the teacher Ram- a new art teacher in the film, as good example. I think that he can touch him students soul and understand them. Especially, he helps Ishaan to overcome his dyslexic and learn as his friends. May be, if the Mr.Ram is not appear, Ishaan will become depression and everyone wont find his special ability. The film also gives parents many important massages. In many modern families, fathers believe that they are responsible for earning money and the wife have therefore responsibility of the house including child development. However, it is a parents mistake, because both father and mother have influent to children development. Furthermore, in the class, the role of teacher is very important, they will effect directly on learning attitude of children. May be, teacher generally believe that all students have same ability in a class and teaching one students is same for all therefore whatever one student learns in the class should be learnt by all equally wellis this a right belief? Actually, each children has own ability. The teacher should create learning environment that child can express all their ability. One of the most important is the teachers attitude with the students must be friendly and unthreatening, therefore the students are able to follow the instruction and share their problems through different means. Besides, it is necessary to working between parents and teacher. They can discus about the childrens activities, learning, and ability at home and at school and help the children solve their problems and help them have a happy life. Thus, the children development depend on many things includes the relationships parents and children; teacher and children; children and children; parents and teacher. We have to connect all the relationship suitably to avoid hurt to soul of the children.
TAARE ZAMEENN PAR It is a beautiful movie. Have you seen it? This movie deals so beautifully with the problem of dyslexia. A good movie in the sense that it has handled this problem in such a sensitive and delicate manner. It is not a depressing movie, it does leave you teary eyed at times, but the message is so clear. Any parent or school authority that sees this film will hopefully handle such different children differently. The protagonist is a 9-year-old boy who does not care much for studies, because he simply does not understand written words. He has difficulty writing, his handwriting is terrible, and his spellings are also haywire. He prefers to paint, is very good at it and is also an intelligent kid. But his teachers do not understand his problem; his parents are also all at sea, though his mother is sympathetic. He is ridiculed and punished at school, and his father gets very angry with him. In contrast his elder brother is shown as being academically brilliant. Finally his father decides to put him in a boarding school, as a punishment for not being serious about studies. This jolts the boy; he suffers separation anxiety as well as bewilderment as to why no one understands him. There is a scene in the class where he is asked to read aloud from his text book by his teacher. He says the words are dancing, which is how such children see the written words. They are not exaggerating, but not many understand this. At the boarding school, he meets an arts teacher who recognizes his difficulty and sets about helping him over come his handicap. This teacher takes on the role of educating other teachers, this boys parents and also imparting the knowledge to the boy that he is not abnormal. He just needs extra time to over come his handicap. This teacher can perfectly understand this boys situation because he is himself a dyslexic. How this boy overcomes his handicap, how his parents understand and accept him is the story line. There are no frills, or unnecessary melodrama in this movie. This movie stresses the point that dyslexic children have to be mainstreamed, but with extra help. All they need is an understanding teacher who is willing to spend extra time with them and teach them the way they need to be taught. The standard method of imparting lessons cannot be used for these children. All parents, teachers and children themselves must view this movie. Many unexplained behavioral mishaps will become clear. This movie shows clearly that this boy is intelligent. He is a gifted painter and enjoys life. He looks at things in different manner. He lives in a world of imaginations and dreams. His perception is different. This movie conveys the fact that structured teaching methods is not all that is needed to make a child learn. Every child has an imagination that has to be tapped. Children must be given free reign to play and explore. Just confining them to the four walls of classrooms will not whet their appetite for creativity. The arts teacher imparts to the boys father the true meaning of being a father. The fact that a child must feel secure in his parents love. That no matter what happens, parents are there to give solace and love. And when this father sees his son reading from a board without much difficulty, he is overwhelmed. He realizes how much he mistook his son, how he underestimated his intelligence, and how harsh was his behavior towards his son. He is so overwhelmed; he leaves the school without meeting his son. He actually feels ashamed of himself. This movie touches on the insensitivity of some teachers also. If a student cannot do his homework, his handwriting is bad, he hates to write or read, he use mirror writing, then the obvious conclusion is the child is lazy. The teachers also say he is a bad influence on his classmates. In their assessment of this child, they succeed in killing his fragile spirit and stamp down hard on his feelings. No teacher bothers to find out whether this student has a problem. He does not perform, so he should be punished. The only way to make sure all teachers recognize this child in their classrooms is to give them additional training in learning disorders during their teachers training program. Even if they cannot help the child much, they can recognize the symptoms and recommend remedial teaching to the parents of these children. They can sensitize the other children in the classroom so that they do not tease dyslexic children. Taare zameen par is a beautiful and a thoughtful movie on a sensitive subject. I hope more and more people view it.
