Dear Family Letter,

My name is Alexandra. Foreign friends call me Alex. Im a 22 year-old Romanian student, but I look
younger. I currently live in Iasi where I am one month short of completing my undergraduate studies in
Tourism Geography. I actually come from Radauti, a small town in the north of Romania. I have dark red
hair, green eyes, 1.55 metres, 44 kilos.
I come from a family with 6 members. My father has been working in Italy for 11 years and my mom is
housewife, but some years ago she worked as woodworker. I have 2 brothers and one sister. I am the
eldest child, my brother Alexandru is 19 years old, Lucian is 17 years old and my little sister is 5 years
old.
I plan to pursue a master degree in tourism and to start Nursery School in Iasi. At the moment I want to
take some time out of academics to have a different life experience. I travelled in Europe in 10 countries
and my wish is to visit UK, Im sure it will be an interesting period.
My first language is of course, Romanian, and I am also fluent in English. I started learning English in
primary school and I also studied English at university. During university, I made different friends from
other countries like France, Belgium, Morocco thanks to my English skills. I am particularly interested in
experiencing family life in United Kingdom, since it offers a cultural context that is undoubtedly different
from mine. For this reason, I would very much like to find a nice family to live with and work for in
United Kingdom.
I understand perfectly Spanish. Its one of my hobbies and I hope someday I will improve my Spanish
skills. I love music, but I hate clubs, I dont drink or smoke.
When it comes to child care experience, I started caring for children some years ago. At the beginning I
looked after my little cousins I spent a six month internship in Vatra Dornei, where I organized different
activities for children (8-15 years old). We made many camping trips in Bucovina.
It is a dream of mine to go to UK and I can combine it with a wonderful and interesting job: to care for
your children.
One of my best characteristics is my tolerance. Nowadays it is very important to be tolerant because
there are so many different countries and traditions. Thats why I chose to study in Iasi, a city with many
foreign students and very nice people, with different religions and views of life. My opinion is that
everyday u can learn something new from open mind people. I am very polite, adaptable and calm.
My disadvantage would be probably the fact that I dont own a driving license but I can help with
anything else is possible. Ill tell it from the start that I cook basic food (mashed potatoes, soups) but I
am very eager to learn new things from you.
