Moringa has been frst described 4000 years ago as a medic-
inal herb. Ancient Indian warriors, Egyptians, Greeks and Ro-
mans found the usefulness of Moringa. It has been tried, tested
and used in history to treat or cure illness or disease as a tradi-
tional medicine since 2000BC. In fact, Ayurveda, one of the
oldest systems of health care known to mankind for curing dis-
eases has at least 300 references for Moringa Oleifera.
Why did the ancients value this plant?
Modern science has discovered Moringa contains the following
natural nutrients:

You might want to ask yourself an important question
now.
Do you provide your body with all of the
required nutrients daily?
Whats more, if you are already taking nutritional supplements
and multivitamins how do they compare with the nutrition from
Moringa Oleiferas leaf powder?
Afer considering the fact that your body is designed to naturally
process plant food nutrition one can realize that he human body
can therefore make a distinction between natural nutrients and
the synthetic nutrients. Naturally occurring nutrients from 100%
whole foods thus provide better nutrition simply because more
of it is bioavailable or absorbable by your body. Now imagine you
want to get the benefts of Ninety naturally occurring nutrients.
Tink of the numerous greens, fruits and vegetables you woul
have to pick and choose.
You would then be faced with the task of shopping for and
eating these numerous items as part of your diet. Keep in
mind though, getting the right nutrition is not about just
the quantity of food, its pertains mainly to the quality of
food. Besides isnt overeating harmful to health?
A person actually needs at least forty diferent nutrients to
be healthy. Te nutritional compounds would subsequently
need to interact to provide good health. Minerals are need-
ed for vitamins to do their job. Ingestion really has to be
diverse indeed. Besides the body doesnt take up every nu-
trient consumed due to which supplements have become
necessary. When the body does not get all its required nu-
trients health fails with the onset of disease and sickness.
Te Bioavailability of Whole Plant Minerals are as
indicated below:
Calcium - Up to 8.79 times more bioavailable;
Chromium - Up to 25 times more bioavailable;
Copper - 1.85 time more retained in the liver;
Iron - 1.77 times more absorbed into blood;
Magnesium - Up to 2.20 times more bioavailable;
Manganese - 1.63 times more retained in the liver;
Molybdenum - 16.49 times more absorbed into blood;
Selenium - Up to 17.60 times the antioxidant efect;
Zinc - 6.46 times more absorbed into blood.

The Benefts of Moringas
Essential Amino acids
Tere are more benefts for you when you have the Moringa Oleif-
era leaf powder daily. Tey are Moringas Essential Amino acids.
Te human body is capable of manufacturing only 12 of the 20
or so diferent amino acids needed to build proteins used to grow,
repair, and maintain cells. Te Amino acids which our body
cannot make are therefore termed Essential Amino Acids. Tese
should be obtained through food sources and Moringa contains
all of these Essential Amino Acids naturally.
We have listed below these Essential Amino Acids along with their
function for your beneft.
Leucine
Collaborates with isoleucine and valine to repair muscles, regulate
blood sugar, and provide the body with energy
Increases production of growth hormones

helps alertness, improves memory and mood.
Produces the chemical needed for signal transmission between
the brain and nerve cells.
Blood-brain barrier is a protective barrier formed by the red
blood cells and the glia of the brain protecting the brain from any
toxins, bacteria, and viruses in the bloodstream. Only chemicals
that are able to cross this barrier can directly afect brain func-
tion. Phenylalanine is able to penetrate the blood-brain barrier
Threonine
Helps keep connective tissues and muscles throughout the body
strong and elastic, including the heart,
where it is found in signifcant amounts.
Promotes normal growth by helping to maintain the proper
protein balance in the body, Assists metabolism, supports
cardiovascular, liver, central nervous, and immune system
function Prevents liver fat build-up, Essential part of collagen,
elastin and enamel proteins Enhances the digestive and intestinal
tracts. Supports the immune system by aiding in the production
of antibodies.
Tryptophan
Important for the production of serotonin, one of the key brain
chemicals involved in regulating mood.
Needed for normal growth in infants and for nitrogen balance in
adults,
Helps control hyperactivity in children, relieves stress, and
enhances the release of growth hormones necessary for the
production of vitamin B6,
Supports the immune system,
Alleviates insomnia, reduces anxiety, depression, and the symp-
toms of migraine headaches,
Decreases the risk of artery and heart spasms by collaborating
with lysine to reduce cholesterol levels.

The Benefts of Chlorophyll
Teres more. Moringa Oleifera also contains Chlorophyll. In
fact more chlorophyll is found in Moringa than in any other
plant. For example wheat grass is well known for its chloro-
phyll content and benefts but Moringa Oleifera has 4 times
the amount of chlorophyll than wheat grass.
Chlorophyll, the green pigment of plants, is an alkalinizing
compound found in plants that helps ofset the acidifying ef-
fect of the typical high-fat, high-protein Western diet. Be-
cause chlorophyll is not known to be an
essential nutrient, a defciency does not exist. People who
do not eat plenty of green foods lack chlorophyll in their diets.
Other Benefts of Chlorophyll
Neutralizes toxins
Flushes toxins from the body
Natural healer
Purifes the liver
Removes heavy metals pollutants
Helps strengthen the immune system
Assists in building red blood cells
Rejuvenates at cellular level
Reduces the ph level in the body
Chlorophyll is involved in the most important chemical reaction on
earth, photosynthesis. Our lives would not be possible without it. Chlo-
rophyll is the master chemical at the base of all of our food supply and
oxygen production.
Chlorophyll, ofen referred to as the blood of plants, is closely related
to hemoglobin the red pigment of red blood cells responsible for oxygen
transport in many animals. Te main diference between the two mole-
cules is the metallic element in the center.
In human blood hemoglobin consists of iron, while in chlorophyll, the
metallic element is magnesium. Some people believe that this resem-
blance helps the chlorophyll to be better absorbed and used to build up
blood and fght anemia. Some scientists and nutritionists do not believe it
is absorbed internally (to reach the blood) but rather that it may act locally
to support the health of the mouth, stomach and intestinal tract.
In either case, there is much evidence that chlorophyll could cure or
ease acute infection of the respiratory tract and sinuses, chronic ulcers,
and bad breath; it also accelerates wound healing and has been shown in
animal studies to nullify the cancer-inducing efects of a variety of envi-
ronmental (including food) toxins. Other studies have shown that chloro-
phyll supports liver function and detoxifcation of the body.
Moringa is one of the very few foods that contain chlorophyll togeth-
er with so many other nutrients (vitamins, minerals, proteins, benefcial
fats), and has a great taste. Dark green vegetables and herbs like Romaine
lettuce, spinach, or parsley are excellent sources of chlorophyll, but they
do not provide many of the other nutrients of Moringa.

Moringas Minerals and their Benefts
Unbelievably Moringa Oleifera ofers you still more. You also get
the aid of the following Minerals when you consume Moringa
Oleiferas leaf powder daily.
Calcium
Calcium is one of the most important minerals for the growth,
maintenance, and reproduction of the human body. Calcium
provides other functions besides maintaining healthy teeth and
bones. Te following functions of the body are facilitated by pro-
viding the required amount of calcium: Blood coagulation, trans-
mission of nerve impulses, muscle contraction and relaxation,
normal heart beat, stimulation of hormone secretion, activation
of enzyme reactions.
Copper
An essential trace mineral that is present in all of the body tis-
sues Copper, along with iron, helps in the formation of red blood
cells. It also helps in keeping the blood vessels, nerves, immune
system, and bones healthy.
Iron
An important trace mineral that is found in every cell of the body,
usually in combination with protein. it is a part of the blood cells
carrying oxygen to all cells in the entire body. Iron is essential to
the formation of hemoglobin and myoglobin, which carry the
oxygen in the blood and the muscle. Iron makes up part of many
proteins and enzymes in the body. Iron defciency is the most
common nutritional defciency worldwide.
Magnesium
An essential mineral for human nutrition it serves several im-
portant metabolic functions. It is important for the contraction
and relaxation of muscles. It plays a role in the production and
transport of energy. Magnesium is involved in the synthesis of
protein, and it assists in the functioning of certain enzymes in
the body.
Phosphorus
An essential macro-mineral. About 1% of the total body weight
is made up of phosphorus. Approximately 85% is bound with
calcium to form bones and teeth. Calcium needs phosphorus to
build strong bones. It is required for normal functioning of every
body cell. Needed for most of the bio-chemical processes such as
cell growth and conversion of food to energy.
Potassium
Potassium is a mineral is involved in the electrical and cellular
function in the body. It assists in the regulation of the acid-base
and water balance in the blood and the body tissues. It assists in
protein synthesis from amino acids and in carbohydrate metab-
olism. It is necessary for the building of muscle and for normal
body growth. Te most common symptom of potassium deple-
tion is fatigue. Other common problems associates with reduced
potassium levels are hypertension, congestive heart failure, car-
diac arrhythmia, and depression.

Zinc
Zinc plays an important role in the proper functioning of the
immune system of the body. It is required for the enzyme
activities necessary for cell division, cell growth, and wound
healing. It plays a role in the acuity of the senses of smell and
taste. Zinc is also involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates.
Low-protein diets and vegetarian diets tend to be low in zinc.

The Benefts of Moringas
Vitamins
Vitamin A (beta carotene)
Tis is needed by the retina of the eye in the form of a specifc
metabolite, the light-absorbing molecule retinal. Tis molecule
is absolutely necessary for both scotopic vision and color vision.
Vitamin A also functions in a very diferent role - as an
irreversibly oxidized form retinoic acid, which is an important
hormone-like growth factor for epithelial and other cells.
Vitamin B1 (thiamine)
Tis helps fuel the body by converting blood sugar into energy.
It keeps the mucous membranes healthy and is essential for the
nervous system and cardiovascular and muscular functions.
Vitamin B2 (ribofavin)
Tis is required for a wide variety of cellular processes. Like the
other B vitamins, it plays a key role in energy metabolism, and
for the metabolism of fats, ketone bodies, carbohydrates, and
proteins. It is the central component of the cofactors FAD and
FMN, and is therefore required by all Flavoproteins.
Vitamin B3 (niacin)
Llike all B complex vitamins, is necessary for healthy skin, hair,
eyes, and liver. It also helps the nervous system function prop-
erly. Niacin helps the body produce sex and stress-related hor-
mones in the adrenal glands and other parts of the body. It is
efective in improving circulation and reducing cholesterol levels
in the blood.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine)
Tis is required for the synthesis of the neurotransmitters sero-
tonin and norepinephrine and for myelin formation.
Pyridoxine defciency in adults principally afects the peripheral
nerves, skin, mucous membranes, and the blood cell system. In
children, the central nervous system (CNS) is also afected.
Defciency can occur in people with uremia, alcoholism,
cirrhosis, hyperthyroidism, malabsorption syndromes, conges-
tive heart failure (CHF), and in those taking certain medications.

Vitamin B7 (biotin)
Tis has vital metabolic functions. Without biotin as a co-factor,
many enzymes do not work properly, and serious complications
can occur, including varied diseases of the skin, intestinal tract,
and nervous system. Biotin can help address high blood glucose
levels in people with type 2 diabetes, and is helpful in maintain-
ing healthy hair and nails, decreasing insulin resistance and im-
proving glucose tolerance, and possibly preventing birth defects.
It plays a role in energy metabolism, and has been used to treat
alopecia, cancer, Crohns disease, hair loss, Parkinsons disease,
peripheral neuropathy, Rett syndrome, seborrheic
dermatitis, and vaginal candidiasis.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)
Tis is one of the safest and most efective nutrients, experts say.
It may not be the cure for the common cold (though its thought
to help prevent more serious complications), but the benefts of
vitamin C may include protection against immune system de-
fciencies, cardiovascular disease, prenatal health problems, eye
disease, and wrinkles.
Vitamin D (cholecalciferol)
Tis is essential for promoting calcium absorption in the gut and
maintaining adequate serum calcium and phosphate concentra-
tions to enable normal mineralization of bone and prevent
hypocalcemic tetany. It is also needed for bone growth and bone
remodeling by osteoblasts and osteoclasts. Without sufcient
vitamin D, bones can become thin, brittle, or misshapen. Vita-
min D sufciency prevents rickets in children and osteomalacia
in adults. Together with calcium, vitamin D also helps protect the
elderly from osteoporosis. Vitamin D has other roles in human
health, including modulation of neuromuscular and immune
function and reduction of infammation.
Vitamin E
Tis describes a family of eight antioxidants, four tocopherols
and four tocotrienols. alpha-tocopherol (a-tocopherol) is the
only form of vitamin E that is actively maintained in the human
body and is therefore, the form of vitamin E found in the largest
quantities in the blood and tissue. Vitamin E, a fat-soluble vita-
min, protects vitamin A and essential fatty acids from oxidation
in the body cells and prevents breakdown of body tissues.
Vitamin K
Tis is needed for blood to properly clot, and for the liver to make
blood clotting factors, including factor II (prothrombin), factor
VII (proconvertin), factor IX (thromboplastin component), and
factor X (Stuart factor). Other clotting factors that depend on
vitamin K are protein C, protein S, and protein Z. Defciency of
vitamin K or disturbances of liver function (for example, severe
liver failure) may lead to defciencies of clotting factors and
excess bleeding.

Phytonutrients
Phyto means plant in Greek and Phytonutrients are naturally
occurring organic chemical compounds from plants.
Research indicates Moringa Oleifera leaves contain the following
phytonutrients:
Flavonoids
Flavonoids are shown to have the capacity to scavenge free-
radicals, antioxidative activity, known to prevent coronary heart
disease, and exhibit anticancer activity. Some favonoids even
exhibit potential for anti-human immunodefciency virus func-
tions.
Anthraquinones
Anthraquinones the main active constituents in herbs are a class
of naturally occurring phenolic compounds. Frequently used to
relieve constipation they act directly on the intestinal mucosa
making the stool more liquid and easing bowel movements. Tus
aiding gastrointestinal health in humans.
Terpenoids
Also referred to as terpenes, they play a role in traditional herbal
remedies and are under investigation for antibacterial, antineo-
plastic, and other pharmaceutical functions. Tey display a wide
range of biological activities against cancer, malaria, infamma-
tion, and a variety of infectious diseases (viral and bacterial).
Worldwide the sales of terpene-based pharmaceuticals in 2002
were approximately US $12 billion.

Saponins
Saponins are to be found in around 100 diferent plant families.
Plants produce them to help resist microbial pathogen such as
fungi and certain bacteria and viruses. Saponins have hemolyt-
ic, expectorative, anti-infammatory and immune-stimulating
activity. According to researchers of a review published in 2010
in the journal Fitoterapia, around 150 natural saponins have
anti-cancer properties. Recent research by scientists in Canada
and Africa suggests that Masai tribes people in East Africa who
consume a diet very high in animal products, cholesterol, and
saturated fat have very low serum cholesterol levels most likely
due to the consumption of saponin-rich herbs.
Alkaloids
Alkaloids are a group of naturally occurring chemical com-
pounds that contain mostly basic nitrogen atoms. Alkaloid-con-
taining plants have been used by humans since ancient times for
therapeutic and recreational purposes. Many alkaloids have use-
ful physiological efects and are used in medicine Common al-
kaloids include quinine, cafeine, nicotine, strychnine, serotonin,
and LSD.

Moringa Oleifera for Diabetics
Having understood the role of both the liver and potassium for
blood sugar levels, we researched further for an easy to fnd
superfood with potassium. We found Moringa Oleifera an in-
credible plant which is not only rich in potassium but is also good
for improving liver function and, believe it or not, this superfood
is also benefcial for diabetics. Since the research has been pub-
lished in esteemed journals we believe this information should
be mentioned here because it can support your efort to maintain
a healthy liver and also support healthy blood sugar levels.

Moringa Oleifera for Antiageing & DNA
damage protection
In fact we even discovered the Antiageing & DNA damage pro-
tection properties of the Moringa Oleifera leaf. Did you know
that every minute more than 40,000 individual skin cells die?
Te life cycle of human skin is approximately 300 days. Imagine
the benefts if new skin cells could grow faster than the older
dying cells. Zeatin present in Moringa has anti-aging properties
because it slows the aging process by helping the body to replace
cells faster than the rate at which the cells age. Zeatin defends
cells against free radical damage, strengthens living cells and pro-
tects healthy cells from the efects of stress.
Moringa has several thousand times more Zeatin than any other
known plant.

Moringa Oleifera provides
Tumor and Cancer Protection
You will begin to esteem Moringa Oleifera leaf powder even
further if you consider the research done on its leaves for its
Antitumor and Anti-Cancer Activity. Cytostatic is a word some
doctors and researchers use to describe the way some anti cancer
drugs work. Cytostasis (cyto-cell, stasis-stoppage) is the inhibi-
tion of cell growth and multiplication. Cytostatic refers to a
cellular component or medicine that inhibits cell growth. So they
stop the cancer growing.
