TEXTOS NARRATIVOS

Qu son textos narrativos? Estos se caracterizan porque mencionan de manera
detallada, narran o relatan un hecho histrico, un acontecimiento, una cadena de
eventos, o mencionan hechos en orden cronolgico relacionados con un tema. Los
elementos que caracterizan a este tipo de texto son:
1. Predominio de los verbos en pasado
2. Parte de un principio y un final
3. Relata hechos
4. Presencia de fechas que sealan en que tiempo o momento ocurrieron los
hechos
5. Uso frecuente de conectores que indican secuencia temporal tales como:
When: Cuando
Then: Entoces
After: Despus
Later: luego
Meanwhile: mientras tanto
as soon as: tan pronto como
at the beginning: Al comienzo/ Al principio
at the end: Al final
finally: Finalmente /por ultimo

SIMPLE PAST TENSE- PASADO SIMPLE: Es un tiempo verbal que se utiliza para
expresar acciones que tuvieron lugar en el pasado, sin que importe excesivamente
el momento del pasado en el que tuvieron lugar.
Ej: Rafael Nadal played Tennis last day very good.
I liked to do exercise every Monday.

NOTA: Para construir las formas negativa e interrogativa del Pasado Simple,
necesitamos la ayuda del verbo auxiliar Do, esta vez con su tiempo en pasado, DID.

En ingls, hay dos tipos de pasado simple: el regular o el irregular. Los verbos

regulares forman el Pasado Simple aadiendo el sufijo -ed al infinitivo y los verbos
irregulares forman su Pasado Simple sin seguir ninguna regla.

Alexander von Humboldt
Alexander von Humboldt was born on September 14, 1769 in Berlin. As
officer's sons, he and his brother Wilhelm received their basic education from
private tutors, which were selected from the leaders of the Berliner Enlightenment.
He studied natural sciences and mining in Fribourg and worked in the Prussian
civil service from 1792 until 1796. As of 1788, he had developed three research
programs, "Physical Geography," "Physics of the Earth," and "Theory of the Earth,"
which he turned into a methodology in 1793. In his work "Physical Geography,"
Humboldt considered morphography, climatology, magnetism of the earth,
hydrography, along with the geography of plants, animals, and humans.
After 1799, Alexander von Humboldt was one of the most well respected
geographers. Then In that year, he traveled to South America on a research trip,
which included the countries Venezuela, Cuba, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, and
Mexico. Later he returned to Europe in 1804 .He considered this journey to be the
greatest private expedition in history. After his return, Humboldt lived mainly in
Paris until 1827, Finally In 1829, Humboldt began traveling again, through the
Baltics to Moscow .Humboldt maintained friendships with many notables and He
was described by Charles Darwin as the greatest scientific traveler of his time.
Alexander von Humboldt died on May 6, 1859 in Berlin.

Lake Toba


Once upon a time, there was a man who was living in north Sumatra. He lived in a
simple hut in a farming field. The did some gardening and fishing for his daily life.
One day, while the man was do fishing, he caught a big golden fish in his trap. It was
the biggest catch which he ever had in his life. Surprisingly, this fish turned into a beautiful
princess. He felt in love with her and proposed her to be his wife. She said; "Yes, but you
have to promise not to tell anyone about the secret that I was once a fish, otherwise there
will be a huge disaster". The man made the deal and they got married, lived happily and
had a daughter.
Few years later, this daughter would help bringing lunch to her father out in the
fields. One day, his daughter was so hungry and she ate his fathers lunch. Unfortunately,
he found out and got furious, and shouted; You damned daughter of a fish. The daughter
ran home and asked her mother. The mother started crying, felt sad that her husband had
broke his promise.
Then she told her daughter to run up the hills because a huge disaster was about to
come. When her daughter left, she prayed. Soon there was a big earthquake followed by
non-stop pouring rain. The whole area got flooded and became Toba Lake. She turned into
a fish again and the man became the island of Samosir.
