Partner Supervisor -SUPPLEMENTAL APPRAISAL FORM (SAF)
(To be used by supervisors in partner institutions, work place colleagues, MCC team/unit members.)
MEMO: You are being asked to participate in an annual performance appraisal of an MCC worker. Keep in mind that appraisals should not contain surprises, so your comments should reflect other communications with the person being appraised.It is anticipated that both the worker and the supervisor will both choose three or four individuals to complete this SAF. There is flexibility and latitude as to the frequency or need for SAFs to be completed based on individuals job assignments and duties. At any PAR either the worker or supervisor may request SAFs to be a part of the performance process.
Please that since you are the workers direct supervisor parts of this maybe shared directly with the person whose PAR is in process.

1. What aspects of the service workers assignment responsibilities and key tasks have gone well?
What I know he responsibilities are support M&E Unit, ED Unit. For M&E Unit support me in data analysis, research report, revise the M&E framework. He shares the peace lesson during the M&E learning time i.e. peace theory from John Paul Lederak. He also helps the PBO team on how to write the SOC. He joins the field visit with Mobilization staff to see how it work and learn from it. He helps in writing the SOC of peacebuilders or community peacebuilders.
2. What aspects of the service workers assignment responsibilities and key tasks have proved most difficult?
I here appreciate all his assigned tasks for helping M&E Unit.
3. Assess various aspects of the workers performance (e.g. quality of work, creativity, dependability, adaptability, initiative, productivity, and ability to make timely and necessary decisions).
He is a good resource person that can help many things needed in M&E Unit. His creative ideas have helped to deal with some difficulties in M&E work i.e. SOC analysing process, SOC producing. He works with respect the role of each staff related to his JD.
4. Evaluate the workers communication skills, including verbal communication, written communication, respect for diverse opinions, and ability to listen. If applicable assess the workers competence in local language(s) in his or her context.
He quite well adapt with our customs/life style that lead to friendly communication one another. He can communicate in Khmer with us. He understands the Khmer context and accepts the different things/perception. He often understands the Khmer slang language, it seems incredible.
5. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the workers relational skills (e.g. ability to collaborate with others, to prevent and resolve conflicts, openness to others, ability to maintain confidentiality, approachability, their self- awareness and self-care).
The strengths: good collaboration with M&E team or other unit sometimes, Openness to help others, approachability, SOC writing skill, Data analyzing skill, sometimes making fun among us.
The weakness: I rarely to hear from him about his comment or feedback on how to improve my work or ability in term of appraisal i.e. during the team building in last June. I dont know he is a positive man in communication to keep good communication by hiding the negative point of friend/coworker or he is afraid to provide feedback that lead to no-good relationship.
6. What observations do you have regarding the service workers adjustment to the culture and integration into the community; at work, daily life, personal connections, or faith community involvement?
He can join with us easily like local food, making fun, talk with community people friendly and simple life style -2- SAF version Dec2013
while field visit.
7. What are some specific recommendations regarding the service workers assignment responsibilities? (e.g. Communication, Collaboration, Setting Priorities, Training)
Continuously, he commit to share with M&E team about peace theories or practice and other peace-related research study which is one part of capacity building for M&E Unit.
One more thing he will transfer the report writing skill and analyzing skill to M&E Unit so that we are more capable with such work.
8. What are some suggestions for additional personal supports that may help the service worker thrive in her/his assignment?
