Welcome to the Iirst book oI the Basic Hypnotic Communicator CertiIication Course.
The basic program was designed Ior writers who wish to improve the quality oI their
writing as well as incorporate elements oI persuasion, inIluence and hypnosis into their
work.
These elements can easily be added later on and we will be discussing how you will be
able to utilize covert inIluence strategies to add impact and power to your writing.
But beIore we discuss the more advanced lessons in hypnotic communication, we would
like to take this opportunity to step back and review the basics oI good writing. We
would like to emphasize that beIore a hypnotic communicator can blow away` anyone
with his work, his work has to be oI the highest quality.
This can be accomplished by reviewing the basics oI written English and we are also
going to talk about how you can continually expand your vocabulary. You might be
wondering why does anyone have to exert eIIort to expand his own vocabulary?
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 3
What`s the point? Well, one oI the key traits oI inIluential writers is they all have
amazing vocabularies. Now don`t get us wrong we don`t want you to memorize a
whole dictionary. It is estimated that the English language has no less than 450,000
actively used words.
To review and rediscover all oI these words would be highly impractical. But what we do
want you to do is to commit to the idea that you have to expand or build your existing
vocabulary so when you want to express an idea, you would have the best linguistic
resources at your disposal.
Do not worry a bit iI you have never really paid attention to grammar and vocabulary
beIore. What`s important is that you are now ready to start improving these important
dimensions oI your writing because you have signed up Ior the Basic Hypnotic
Communicator CertiIication Course.
Because iI you want to have the best advantage over other writers who might have the
same aspirations as you do, the Iirst thing you have to address would be the actual
structure and quality oI your writing.
We have worked with the best copywriters in the industry and although they have
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 4
diIIerent belieIs as to how one should address readers they all agree that the Ioundation oI
hvpnotic communication or simply, persuasive communication is still quality writing.
You cannot separate this element Irom hypnotic writing because it is one oI the
cornerstones and iI you remove it, the whole structure will crumble.
Once we are done improving your vocabulary and grammar we are going to explore some
hypnotic language patterns that you will be able to use immediately.
II you need to go to a meeting aIter reading the Iirst book, we can assure you the
patterns that you are going to learn at the end oI Book One can help you gain compliance
Irom people, provided that you combine the hypnotic words with a good dose oI
compelling inIormation. Again, these language patterns (which will be revealed at the
end oI the book) can be used when you are writing and speaking to others.

Writers essentially need two things to be able to write well a wealth oI experiences and
a good vocabulary. OI course, there are other elements that also come into play when you
are writing, but Ior the most part, the aIorementioned Iactors are the most important
because they have a direct impact on your work. In this part oI the course, we are going
to Iocus on vocabulary and grammar because you can take care oI liIe experiences
yourselI. Let`s get started.
Now, when it comes to vocabulary the main issue is really how much do vou presentlv
know? People generally have a very limited collection oI words that they use Irequently
on a day to day basis. These Iunctional words are clustered in this manner because they
directly reIlect the environment and the daily responsibilities oI a person.
The problem with these Iunctional words is oIten, they cannot Iully express the breadth
and depth oI a person`s emotions and ideas. OIten, they are inadequate Ior the purpose oI
inIluencing and persuading others. This is why you should really devote some time every
single day to continually expand your vocabulary because in the end, you will be the one
reaping all oI the beneIits.
Are you ready to expand your vocabulary? We have gathered some oI the best strategies
Ior developing your vocabulary. Now, this collection oI strategies was not meant to be
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 6
used all at once.
Unless you have a lot oI Iree time on your hands, we wouldn`t want you to exceed the
time you have allotted Ior the Hypnotic CertiIication Course. Our best advice Ior anyone
who wishes to build a rich and truly impressive vocabulary is to work on it everv dav so
that the strategies that do work will become second nature. When these strategies become
second nature these techniques will also become a part oI your daily routine.
?4*"4+@1 E -
Spend IiIteen minutes a day reading an educational magazine, journal, novel or even just
your regular newspaper. Pick stories or chapters that you like and just read the paragraphs
slowly. Savor the words and make reading a dynamic and enjoyable experience.
When you encounter a word that you are not very Iamiliar with, we want you to just mark
that word. Do this every time you see a word that is unIamiliar. II you are reading a
printed book or magazine, use a highlighter or just mark the unIamiliar words with a
pencil (so you can erase the marks later, iI you wish).
When you are done reading the target chapter or story, just go back to the marked words
and try to determine their meaning by re-reading the sentences.
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 7
Try to determine the meaning through context. When you have gone through all oI the
words, compare your deIinitions with the ones in an online or printed dictionary. How did
you Iare on your Iirst reading?
The purpose oI this daily exercise is to help you build a healthy reading habit. To some
people, this reading habit came very naturally because they have been exposed to lots oI
reading materials when they were young and they were drawn to books as young
children.
Not everyone can claim that they were book lovers as children. This should not impede
your growth as a hypnotic communicator. You should not think that your talent is 'not
natural and thereIore, your growth is stunted. That is not true. Hypnotic communication
is a skill much like riding a bike. The more you work on it, the better you become over
time.
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 8
?4*"4+@1 E F
Develop a 'daily word habit. A lot oI newspapers and magazines have a small section
dedicated to this. II you can`t Iind one on printed publications you can just type 'word oI
the day on any search engine.
You can also visit websites oI known dictionaries like the Merriam-Webster Dictionary
as these sites are devoted wholly to increasing the interest in a wider vocabulary.
Learning a new word every day may not seem a lot but in the long-term, this daily habit
oI learning a completely new word will be beneIicial to your writing.
OIten, writers have to deal with ideas that cannot be expressed easily through common
words. We`re not saying that you should start using highIaluting words; but we do want
you to use the appropriate words when you are expressing yourselI through writing.
Since readers have no other resource but your words, your words should be able to hit
their targets each and every time.
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 9
?4*"4+@1 E G
The third strategy is to simply open a dictionary and browse it. Ideally, this exercise
should be done at least once a week. You must enIorce a routine so you will never Iorget
to open a dictionary to look Ior new and interesting words.
Many people view dictionaries as extremely boring books. They are actually quite
interesting because dictionaries reIlect not only the development oI a particular language,
but also the culture that the language is trying to preserve.
Whenever new words are added to a dictionary that means shiIts are occurring within the
culture and that alone makes a dictionary a very vibrant and important part oI your
arsenal as a hypnotic communicator.
Now, we know Ior a Iact that people are more comIortable nowadays with using
electronic devices when they need new inIormation or when they want to read something.
II this describes you , Ieel Iree to reIer to electronic versions oI dictionaries. They are
available on the most popular mobile platIorms like iOS.
However, we must remind everyone that nothing really compares to the experience oI
reading a printed book. And the best thing about printed books is you can mark down
pages in a variety oI ways.
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 10
Printed books also give you a way to physically connect with the activity because books
take up space and they`re always there when you need them. OI course, this is our
subjective preIerence but iI these ideas also resonate with you, why not pick up a nice
new dictionary aIter work?
?4*"4+@1 E H
A writer must have a natural love Ior words. And one oI the best ways to develop this
love Ior words is to become a bona Iide word sleuth. Word sleuths have a big passion
when it comes to words; they seek out both new and old words and they also Iind it
exciting to understand how these words came about in the Iirst place.
You see, the English language itselI was derived Irom older languages like Latin. So the
very words you know and usually use are most likely derived Irom a variety oI older
languages.
Now, you might be thinking why would anyone spend time discovering the meaning oI
words? We have two good answers to this question. The Iirst one is this activity will
Iorce you to read more. We know, no one likes the idea oI being Iorced.
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 11
But we have to be honest here in the beginning, you have to use selI-discipline so you
don`t Iall oII the wagon. And iI you set a goal Ior yourselI and you want to accomplish
that goal, you have no choice but to work hard to make sure you get the outcome that you
want.
Learning the origin oI words is also helpIul in improving your ability to understand new
words even without the help oI a dictionary. Many English words are combinations oI
two diIIerent words Irom the older languages. So iI you can start learning the most
common Latin words through your dictionary-digging, you can probably learn other
English words that have similar origins.
?4*"4+@1 E I
The IiIth strategy concerns how vou read and understand words when you are reading.
Usually people ignore words they don`t understand. This is Iine iI you are just reading Ior
pleasure or iI you are reading just to kill time.
But iI you are reading because you want to expand your vocabulary, you need to exert
extra eIIort to identiIy and deIine the words that are not very Iamiliar to you.
Now, beIore you consult a dictionary we want you to develop the habit oI picking up
'contextual clues while reading. Contextual clues are simply words and phrases within a
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 12
paragraph or sentence that lend coherence and meaning to the words used within the
paragraph or sentence.
Simply put, iI a word doesn`t make sense to you, reIer to the other words and phrases
nearby as they may give you a clue as to what the word means.
We can`t promise that you will be able to accurately deIine each new word by using
contextual clues. But what we can assure you is that your comprehension oI written
language will increase exponentially if you choose to utilize this technique. II contextual
clues Iail you, you can always consult with a printed or electronic dictionary Ior the exact
meaning oI any new words you might encounter when reading.

While it would be extremely challenging to Iit all oI the rules oI grammar in one volume,
we have been able to identiIy the most common grammar problems. You can avoid them
by knowing the exact rules oI grammar when writing and speaking.
Great grammar will ensure that your writings will be able to convey your ideas logically
and all your sentences will connect seamlessly with each other. When you take the time
to write with correct grammar you are showing your readers that you are competent
enough to know how to write well and this produces a big impact on your readers, too.
Here are some grammar tips that will help improve the Ilow and consistency oI your
writings:
Commas are used to create pauses within sentences. II you need to write a long sentence,
read the sentence (out loud iI needed) and place a comma where you naturally pause just
to breathe. Also, do not Iorget to add a comma when you are making a long introductory
sentence Ior your essay or article.
Semicolons also have a similar Iunction. II you need to stop Ior a longer period oI time
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 14
within a sentence, use a semicolon and not a comma.
The big diIIerence between a semicolon and a comma is that whatever is Iound
immediately aIter the semicolon must be able to exist as a complete sentence. In essence,
a semicolon is used to connect concise and extremely related sentences in one Iell swoop.
A short dash is used to connect two words. For example, iI we were to place dashes in
between the words 'Iather, 'in, 'law we would produce 'Iather-in-law. II you want
to use a dash to add emphasis within a sentence, use an m-dash.
An m-dash is simply a longer dash, like this one: . Note however that a sentence should
still be readable and coherent iI you decide to erase all oI the m-dashes. So iI your
sentence doesn`t make any sense without the longer dashes, revise it accordingly.
Do you Ieel like adding a Iew acronyms to your written discussion? Go ahead and add
them. However, iI you have coined your own acronyms or iI you are using acronyms that
are not oI common usage you have to write their actual meanings at least once. II your
reader would have to run to Wikipedia or a search engine to Iind out what an acronym
means, your writing would not come across as reader-Iriendly.`
ReIerents are oIten used to give depth and dynamism to a discussion. You can reIer to a
person, event or place in a variety oI ways using reIerents.
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 15
For example, iI you wanted to talk about the movie Titanic you can reIer to the movie as
'the biggest movie oI the nineties. It is up to you to design the reIerents so that they
would create maximum impact on your readers.
However, we do have to warn you against misusing and mixing up reIerents within an
essay or even a Web article. Make sure that when you reIer to something the reader
already has prior knowledge oI what you are reIerring. Do not conIuse your readers.
Let`s talk about this` and that.` Writers oIten use this` when they are a bit conIused
about their own ideas and arguments. There is a very simple way to check iI your own
writing has the same problem.
Simply re-read your work so Iar and identiIy where you placed this.` When you read
your owns statements with this` are you able to identiIy what this` is actually reIerring
to? II you have to guess, then you have to revise your work so that the meaning is more
clear. As Ior the word that,` our sole recommendation would be to avoid using it to reIer
to a person (living or otherwise).
Use the active voice as much as possible. While there is nothing essentially wrong with
the passive voice, people read statements diIIerently. Use the active voice iI you want
your statements to be really snappy and eIIective.
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 16
Ever since commercial word processors came into the market, overemphasis became a
problem. So beIore you commit the same grammatical mistake, let us tell you right now
never to use italics and underlines in the same word.
Why? Because italics and underlines are essentially negative elements. And when you are
using both, you are using two negative elements at once. So there is really no need to use
both to create an impact on your readers. Choose one that looks the best Ior your purpose
and stick to that emphasis style.
Pronouns, iI used correctly, can really improve the readability oI a story or essay.
However, iI you are combining pronouns, common nouns and what not in a single
statement, your readers might end up being conIused. So make sure you are absolutely
clear as to who is doing what in every sentence.
Be careIul with the words 'aIIect and 'eIIect. EIIect reIers to something that brings
about a result. AIIect on the other hand, reIers to a subfective aspect of an emotion. Here
are some examples to disambiguate these two words.
The tragedy affected her so much that she stopped going to school.
The chemical we added sure had an effect on the Iinal reaction!
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 17
Do not be conIused with the terms ensure` and insure.` Insure oIten reIers to insurance
policies and the like. Ensure on the other hand reIers to a person`s guarantee that
something will take place iI Iavorable conditions maniIest.
II you want to use the word 'dead in a sentence, always use it in isolation. Avoid saying
things like 'he was absolutely, positively dead aIter being shot. There are no gradations
Ior the concept oI death and thereIore, adding adjectives does not make sense.
Some people misuse the terms Iew` and less,` too. As a rule oI thumb, use Iew` when
you are reIerring to something that can be counted easily, like balloons or peaches in a
basket. Use 'less iI you need to reIer to things that are not usually counted individually,
like hair or sand.

As promised in the Iirst section oI this book, we will be talking about hypnotic language
patterns now that we have addressed vocabulary and grammar.
Hypnotic language patterns are simply intelligent structures that you can use covertly to
gain compliance Irom others. These language patterns are used to subtly change the
atmosphere oI a conversation so that you become a hypnotic leader and your subject will
Ieel that there is no logical reason to disagree with you.
L"44+*3 E -
The Iirst pattern is the redefine. The redefine can be used to subtly change the direction
oI a conversation so you can veer away Irom topic or issue that you do not want to talk
about. It can also be used to strengthen your own argument by turning the subject`s
attention away Irom what he is talking about.
For example, iI you are arguing with someone regarding a decision that was made on a
project, you can use the redeIine to lead the subject to the angle that you want him to
adapt. So instead oI trying to Iight the other person verbally, you will be able to gain
compliance Irom him by changing what he is thinking of in the Iirst place.
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 19
You can perIorm a redeIine by using this pattern:
The issue is not (A) but it is reallv (B) and this means
Feel Iree to change the wording oI the pattern iI you wish. As long as the correct
sequence oI ideas is used you will arrive at a redeIine. This pattern cuts away the Iirst
idea (A) and replaces it with a second idea (B) just beIore additional persuasive
inIormation is given by the speaker.
L"44+*3 E F
The second pattern is called the agreement frame. The agreement Irame reduces
objections to what you are saying by invoking the principle oI reciprocity. With this
pattern you can sincerely express your agreement at something while subtly pacing and
leading your subject.
Agreement is such a vital component oI rapport and persuasion that is should never be
overlooked. OIten, people have a tough time convincing people who are extremely
resistant to ideas.
They Iight and Iight until one person eventually gives up and just walks away. II you
want to avoid this problem in Iuture interactions, simply use the agreement Irame to
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 20
preserve the positive Ilow oI ideas during a conversation.
The pattern Ior the agreement Irame is:
I agree with and would like to add that .
Now take note oI the structure oI this pattern. The Iirst part oI the pattern allows you to
agree with something. II you completely disagree with something that your subject has
just said, you can agree with parts oI it or you can just acknowledge that he just stated his
opinion.
The important thing here is that you agree with him. Don`t argue or object to what he is
saying openly because that will open a Iloodgate oI even more resistance and objections.
The second part oI the pattern is really where the hypnotic action is.
By saying, 'I would like to add, you are suspending the subject`s critical Iactor by
making it appear that the second part oI your statement is seamlessly linked to your
agreement.
II you are not disagreeing with your subject, why would he object to you in the Iirst
place? He won`t because it won`t make sense Ior him to disagree with you. Add new
inIormation to your statement in the second part oI the sentence; this way you would also
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 21
be able to redirect your subject`s attention to what you want him to think about.
L"44+*3 E G
The third pattern is deletion. Deletion is oIten perIormed when you have to give some
potentially critical inIormation to the subject.
II you want to convey this type oI inIormation without hurting the other person`s Ieelings
too much, use the deletion pattern. Deletion will only work iI three conditions are met:
1. Negative/critical inIormation is conveyed first.
2. Positive inIormation is conveyed last.

3. The Iirst two elements are linked with the word 'but
II we were to translate this pattern to a Iormula, the Iormula would look like this:
M+@"4$N+ O :)4 O 2(#$4$N+
Here is an example to clariIy what this pattern should look like:
'The administrator said your revisions all Iailed but he said he liked the way you
organized your reports
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 22
The 'but placed in the middle oI the sentence clips the Iirst part and allows the subject
to Iocus solely on the last part oI the statement.
L"44+*3 E H
The Iourth pattern is state modiIication. State modiIication can be used when the subject
says something that appears to be absolute.` For example, iI you are convincing a
customer to buy a product that he thinks is completely unnecessary you can use this
pattern to keep the conversation going.
The pattern looks like this:
I agree that you don`t yet and that is why .
The essential element in this pattern is the word yet` because it can link disparate idea
sets easily. Here`s an example, 'I agree that you don`t understand your math homework
yet and that is why you should review your past notes in the next hour or so.
The persuasive turn in the statement allows the speaker to convince the other person to
take a course oI action that is completely diIIerent Irom the course oI action that he wants
to take beIore.
Basic Hypnotic Communicator eBook 1 Page 23
L"44+*3 E I
The IiIth pattern is heightened awareness. Heightened awareness in the context oI
hypnotic communication is simply encouraging the person to have a more liberal
imagination when he is talking to you. The goal oI this pattern is to set oII a chain oI
visualizations within the subject`s mind.
Essentially, the subject will be able to utilize your words more Iully because he will be
actively imagining what you are saying as he is listening to you. Words like 'visualize
and 'imagine are eIIective in setting oII the imaginative chain that you will need to
become more persuasive.
