Health Notes Breaking away from no-
longer healthy beliefs
is required IOT heal.
Illness is the natural
companion of
powerless people
To confirm oneself -- to
consciously develop and
acknowledge a personal
code of honor -- is
crucial to the creation of
a healthy body. There is
no health w/o honor.
Following our intuitive
guidance is the highest
form of preventive health
care
Physical healing often
requires, & may demand,
the healing of emotional
issues.

how do you see
yourself?

intimate connection:
Revealing a wound that
person is processing
If other person wants to
respond in a bonding
manner, s/he matches
the wound with some-
thing of the same
magnitude

What do you love &
whats your history of
wounds & of
forgiveness?
Major Issue
for Many
People
Related to
this Chakra
People are afraid to take
personal responsibility
for themselves
People are afraid to
physically separate
(from family or other
group to which they
have become bonded)
so that their individual
power can take
authority over tribal
power.
Some people futilely
spend years trying to
discover the reason
they had to endure
certain painful events -
- they are unable to
move forward and
unable to release the
past.
Violating this energy
bond by, for instance,
considering those who
are different from us to
be less than us
(discrimination,
prejudice) creates
conflict w/in our spirit
and therefore w/in our
physical body.
Accepting & acting
according to the basic
truth, All Is One, is a
universal spiritual
challenge.
Instead of using
relationships to help us
come to know
ourselves, people often
just keep making the
same mistakes over &
over
Continuing to allow
ourselves to violating
our honor or
compromise our honor
in some way.
Viewing people as
enemies, or to be an
enemy oneself. To
interpret relationships
negatively -- instead of
seeing their divine
purpose.
Failing to honor our
vows to others -- or
conducting ourselves
dishonorable during
the process of
recanting a vow.
Learning to honor our
gut instincts about
negative energy and
actions of other
people.
Continual need for
approval of other
people -- which can
lead to unhealthy ID
w/ gangs, cults, or
other inappropriate
groups
Inability to appreciate
oneself.
Inability to develop a
healthy sense of
oneself as an
individual

Frightened of knowing
themselves, convinced
that self-knowledge
would mean living
alone, w/out their
current friends &
partners
Forgiveness is not the
same as telling the
person who harmed you,
Its okay,. which is the
way most people view it.
It is a complex act of
consciousness, one that
liberates the psyche &
soul from the need for
personal vengeance &
the perception of oneself
as a victim. More than
releasing from blame the
people who caused
wounds, forgiveness
means releasing the
control that the
perception of
victimhood has over our
psyches.
Violating this energy by
acting toward others in
an unloving ways.
When we harbor
negative emotions
toward others or toward
ourselves, or when we
intentionally create pain
for others, we poison
our own physical and
spiritual systems.

Chakra 1 Chakra 2 Chakra 3 Chakra 4
Illness Notes Epidemics:
Victimized by tribal
culture

Various mental illnesses
are generated from
family dysfunction
Physically seductive
forms of power:
Addiction, such as to
materialism, authority,
control, eroticism
Diseases of the gut
Self-exploration &
belief in oneself begins
ones ability to self-
heal.
Love crisis that have issues
of love at their core --
divorce, death of a loved
one, emotional abuse,
abandonment, adultery --
are often the cause of an
illness & not just an event
that coincidentally
precedes it.
Heartsick.
Wound addiction - when a
person cannot let go of the
power s/he derives from a
wound
By far the strongest poison
to the human spirit is the
inability to forgive oneself
or another person -- it
disables a persons
emotional resources.
When we neglect ourselves
emotionally, we not only
become emotionally toxic,
we bring that toxin into all
of our relationships.
Rituals --
each repre-
senting a
stage of
empower-
ment
Baptism:
A familys commitment
to accept its physical
responsibility for a
new life born into it &
to accept responsibility
to teach the child
spiritual principles.
For an adult, commit-
ment to accept fully
our family of origin as
being divinely chosen
for teaching us lessons
for this lifetime & to
accept personal res-
ponsibility for living
honorably as a mem-
ber of the human tribe,
for doing unto others
as we would have
them do unto us, and
for respecting all life
on this earth.
(Gratitude for ones life
in the physical world)
Communion:
Agreeing with yourself
to make yourself
whole & balanced
Each person w/whom
we share a union is a
part of our lives by
divine design.
The magnetic force we
radiate that draw help
to us when we need
help the most.
Honoring another per-
son, whether by intui-
ting the right thing to
say to someone or by
acknowledging the
equal importance of
the other person in a
union.
Uniting the life
generating energies of
people toward a
common goal
Cherishing the sacred
unions we form with
others
.(Union with people in
ones life)
Confirmation:
Acceptance of respon-
sibility for the quality
of person we become.
Coming of age.
A marker for emergence
into adulthood
Self-respect associated
w/ passage from child-
hood to adulthood.
To become alive
inside by becoming
internally empowered.
Spiritual passage from
external to internally
empowered person.
Symbolic end of a
young persons
dependence upon the
protective energy of
tribal power & his/her
acceptance of
responsibility for
his/her physical &
spiritual life.
The tribes recognition
of person new accep-
tance of responsibility.
(Enhancing ones indi-
viduality&self-esteem)
Marriage:
The need & responsibility to
explore love.
Commitment to attend
consciously to our own
emotional needs, IOT be
able to love & accept
others unconditionally.
Represents first & foremost
a bond w/ oneself, the
internal union of self &
soul.
Partnership
One must be in union w/
ones own personality &
spirit first
To discover & love
ourselves
(A sacred union w/ oneself,
symbolic of recognizing &
honoring the essential
need to love & care for
oneself in order that one
can fully love another)

Chakra 1 Chakra 2 Chakra 3 Chakra 4
Significant
Timing
When we need to & can
see beyond the
inherent contradictions
in tribal teachings &
pursue a deeper level
of truth.
When we change
inwardly, we outgrow
certain belief patterns
& strength others.
When tribal attitudes
become restrictive or
toxic to personal
growth
When tribal justice
obstructs our spiritual
advancement, we need
to free ourselves from
its authority over our
individual power of
choice.
When we can release
our compulsion to
judge who & what
does & doesnt have
value, & instead focus
on honoring the person
& the task w/ which
we are involved.
When we begin
exploring conflict in
relationships; and
when we learn not to
try to control others,
nor to see things as
dualism, but rather to
transcend &
accommodate
differences & see them
in the consciousness of
the inherent oneness of
the universe.
A memorable point in
life when one sees
himself as capable,
powerful.
Endurance -- the power
to maintain strength
and stamina beyond
the capacity of the
physical body alone.
This power awakens
when we accept our
life as it is. We lose
this power when we
focus on what is
missing from life, or
when we see life as
empty and
meaningless and need
to learn to accept our
personal responsibility
for having created it.
Loving oneself begins
with confronting the
wounded child w/in the
psyche & unseating its
authority over us. (If
unhealed, wounds keep
us living in the past.
Forgiveness is an es-
sential spiritual act that
must occur IOT open
oneself fully to the
healing power of love.
Releasing attachment to
our wounds enables us
to move from the child-
like relationship w/ the
divine of the first three
chakras into one in
which we participate
with the divine in acting
out of the love &
compassion of the 4th
chakra.
Letting go of negative
power & move ahead to
become unwounded &
self-empowered.
To get out of the fourth
chakra we go thru it &
learn its lessons -- we
enter the interior of our
own hearts & leave
behind the familiar
thought patterns of the
lower three chakras &
particularly our tribal
heart.
By asking What about
me?, we draw to
ourselves years of re-
pressed but well-
recorded emotional data
that, in an instant, can
determine a new path
for ourselves.
We begin to know our-
selves by discovering
our emotional nature --
in relation to oneself
Reclaiming ones spirit
from the control that our
wounds held
Leave the dead & get on
with your life.

Other Notes Religion is a group
experience whose
main purpose is to
protect the group -- it
is very different from a
spiritual connection to
the divine
With each choice we
make, we either
become more involved
in the illusory physical
world, or we invest
energy into the power
of spirit. Each of the 7
chakras represents a
different version, or
manifestation, of this
one essential lesson.
When we develop the
strength to honor &
make choices consistent
w/ our personal values,
even in small measure,
we are more capable of
introspection & self-
examination.

Health Notes Your physical life & your
spiritual path are one &
the same.
Spirit & body alike
require honesty and
integrity to thrive.
Remaining attached to
negative events &
beliefs is toxic to our
minds, spirits, cell
tissues, & lives
Karma is the energy &
physical consequences
of the choices we
makes.
A balanced person is one
who operates with heart
& mind in unison
Surrendering our personal
will to divine will is the
greatest act we can
perform to bring
spiritual stability into
our lives.
Our attitudes play a
tremendous role in
creating or
destroying the health
of our bodies.
There is great power in
having a will to heal,
and w/out that
internal power, a
disease usually has
its way with the
physical body.
The process of
recovery -- the
journey from the
personal to the
impersonal mind
Our intuitive mind
alerts us to a loss of
power in our bodies -
- when we ignore it,
it usually leads to
illness.
Healing is a matter of
becoming conscious
-- not of the illness,
but of a life-force
that the person has
never before
embraced.
Our spiritual needs are
as crucial to our well-
being as our physical
needs, maybe even
more so.
When we live in the
present moment, we
receive inspiration that
lifts us into ecstasy.
We thrive -- and we
heal -- in ecstatic
moments, when our
spirits become stronger
than our bodies and
our bodies can respond
to the commands of
our spirits.
Exchange of
Information
Sharing of self-
expression, purpose, and
whats meaningful to
you.
How do you express
yourself?
Whats your purpose in
life?
Whats your source of
personal power?
What are your
experiences with giving
up control?

Sharing of experience
with others
recognizing
/acknowledging the
value of your service
to their personal
growth;
Sharing of ones
experience with
(re)examining
reality;
How are you wise?
What is your ordained
path of service to
others?
What is your
experience of
discovering
detachment?
What are your
thoughts about
death?
Sharing our experience
with connecting with
the divine (spiritual
ecstasy);
Sharing our experience
with the dark night -
spiritual abandonment

What is your
unfinished
business?
What makes you feel
connected to the
universe?

Chakra 5 Chakra 6 Chakra 7
Illness Notes The imbalance of head &
heart turns people into
addicts -- in energy
terms, any behavior mo-
tivated by the fear of in-
ternal growth qualifies
as an addiction.
To have faith in
anything or in
anyone that lacks
integrity
contaminates our
spirits & bodies
When we choose to keep
the past more alive than
the present, we interfere
with the flow of the life
force. We become
diseased from carrying
the dead.
Some Key
Questions
Who is in charge of my
life?
Why arent things
working out the way I
want?
Why is this happening?
What do you (god) want
of me?
What am I meant to do
(with my life)?
What is my purpose?
What is gods will for
me?

How do I apply
detachment to my
life?
What is life about?
What am I meant to
do?
What is important to
learn?
What would I like to
be doing?
What are the conse-
quences of such a
change?
For what purpose was I
created?
What am I expected to
learn in this life?
What is the nature of
god?
What is the nature of
reality?
How can I work w/ my
own mind to refine
my mental perceptual
system & become
skilled at penetrating
illusion?

What questions do you
asked that seek insight
into your lifes purpose?
What fears do you have
related to your
understanding of god?
Have you judged your life
as meaningless when
you evaluate it w/in a
spiritual context?
What spiritual fantasies
do you have? Do you,
for example, believe that
seeking a spiritual path
makes you super-ior to
other people, or that it
makes god more aware
of you than of others
who are not as involved
in a spiritual path as you
are?
Have you asked, in the
privacy of your prayers
or thoughts, for insights
into the reasons you find
it difficult to have faith
in the divine?
Do you feel that you have,
in some way, failed in
the choices that you
have made for yourself?
Are you conscious of ever
having violated your
own spiritual rules?
Have you ever desired to
be healed?
Have you ever desired to
know the divine in a
deeper way than you
presently do?
Are you capable of
believing in the divine,
even in the darkest
night?

Major Issue
for Many
People
Related to
this Chakra
We are terrified that by
acknowledging divine will
-- by surrendering our will
to a greater will -- we will
become sep-arated from
all that brings us physical
com-fort. (Instead of real-
izing that surrender to
divine authority means
liberation from physical
illusions, not from the
delights & comforts of
physical life.
When we are in a hold-ing
pattern, claiming that we
do not know what to do
next, this is rarely true.
We are in this pattern
because we know exactly
what we should do next,
but we are terrified to act
on it.
The idea that conscious-ness
requires surren-dering
personal will to divine will
stands in direct conflict w/
all we have come to
consider the measure of an
empowered person
Not honoring our
feelings in the daily
choices we make =>
causing emotional
incongruence (not
being conscious of the
distance between what
we think & what we
feel.
Waiting -- in the
spiritual sense, to go
inside and accept
whatever humble steps
the divine asks us to
take & to wait for the
answers
Letting go of how one
thought their life
should be
Fear that one will lose
all comfort on the
physical plane should
s/he actually surrender
to the divine directing
his/her life.
When we act against
letting go of percep-
tions that are untrue,
consciously blocking
deeper truths from
entering our mental
field, our perceptual
system clouds over.
It is unnatural to our
divine design to let
our thoughts live for
too long in the past;
such an imbalance
creates time warps
that interfere with
our ability to live in
the present and
receive spiritual
guidance each day --
a guidance that will
make no sense to us
if we focus only on
unraveling the
mysteries of
yesterday. If we live
fully in the present
moment, the
mysteries of
yesterday will
gradually be
unraveled for us.
Accepting that there is
no death, there is
only life.
Significant
Timing
When our lives seem most
out of control, we may
become receptive to a
guidance that we would
not have welcomed be-
fore, e.g., some unplan-
ned even, relationship,
illness, or moment when
we feel incomplete
Understanding the ener-gy
consequences of our
thoughts & beliefs, as well
as our actions, may force
us to be-come honest to a
new degrees.
When some event or crisis
occurs that forces us to
confront the limitations of
our own inner resources
that prevent us from
successfully completing
our plans.
We are drawn into a
desire to stretch the
parameters of our
minds.
We find ourselves open
to reexamining our
understanding of
reality.
A mystery arises, we
take action, and
another mystery
follows.
We turn inward &
review the content of
our minds & our
emotional data.
Taking steps to
reorganize our lives,
giving ones feelings a
creative voice in ones
activities
Coming to the point,
when one says, I no
longer want to be
protected w/in the
group, nor do I
desire to have a
mediator filter my
guidance for me. I
want the divine to
move into my life
directly & remove
from my life any
obstacle that
interferes w/ my
ability to form an
intimate union with
the universal
energy.

Rituals Confession:
We are all accountable for
the way we use our
willpower
An energy
acknowledgment that
we have become
conscious of -- and
therefore empowered
over -- a fear that had
previously commended
our spirits
Symbolically, confession
liberates our spirit from
past fears & negative
thought patterns.
Signify that we recognize
our responsibility for
that which we have
created & that we
realize the error in our
choices
Liberates our spirits from
painful learning cycles
& redirects us into the
creative, positive
energies of life.

(To cleanse ones spirit of
negative acts of will)
Ordination
Being made a priest; &
officially taking up the life
task of channeling the sacred.
Symbolical ordination happens
when those with whom we
live or work recognize that
the contributions we make
are beneficial to their
personal or spiritual growth.
Radiating supportiveness, non-
judgmental love
The task one is called to do in
service to others.
Recognition from others that
you have unique insight &
wisdom that lead you to help
others.
Any experience or honor in
which your community
acknowledges that it benefits
from your inner-directed path
of service as much as you do.
(This factor of mutual benefit
identifies your ordained
calling.)
Ordination honors the truth that
each person is capable of
making deeply significant
contributions to the lives of
others -- especially the
contribution of our spirits.
Receiving the energy to search
for answers to the mysteries
we encounter.
Continually directs us to
evaluate the truth & integrity
of our beliefs
(To make sacred ones path of
service)
Waiting & becoming is the
symbolic meaning of being
called to ordination -- i.e.,
allowing the divine to
awaken part of your spirit
that contains the essence of
what you are capable of
contributing to others as well
as to yourself.
The epitome of the ordained
spirit -- fluent in symbolic
sight, and living in complete
harmony & trust w/ the
divine
Extreme Unction (or
Last Rites):
Completing &
Releasing
Gives us the ability
to release our past
experiences
The process of
retrieving ones
spirit from the
various corners
of ones life that
still hold
unfinished
business, or
releasing regrets
that continue to
pull at ones
consciousness --
words,
relationships, paths.
Accepting the
choices we made at
the time and
releasing the
feeling that things
could have or
should have been
otherwise.
At crossroads of our
lives, letting a
previous phase of
life die.

(To finish ones
unfinished business
not just before
death, but as a daily
part of ones life,
thus allowing a
person to love in
present time)
