GNPC CONTRACT AGREEMENT LETTER

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
We refer to your earlier forwarded application /CV/ Resume for job engagement in the (GHANA
NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION) of Ghana. On the above subject matter, The
Management of (GHANA NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION) of Ghana wish to
congratulate you on your successful emergence in the recent recruitment exercise carried out by
our recruitment Manager; Dr. Abubakari Ibrahim Sumaila. Details of your appointment are as
follows:

APPOINTMENT POSITION: Senior Drilling Engineer.

SALARY INDICATION: You are eligible to receive Gross Monthly Salary of USD $11,500
(Eleven Thousand Five Hundred United States Dollars only). Monthly/Take-Home (After tax),
Sterling or Euros equivalent depending on home country and currency of preference.
WORKING HOURS/DAYS OFF/PUBLIC HOLIDAYS: Working hours - 7 hours (including meal
time). Working time - 10 AM - 5 PM. Working days - Monday Friday.
UPFRONT PAYMENT OF SALARY:
The first Two Months salary shall be paid in advance before expatriates embark on journey to
assume duty. This is to enable expatriates settle all domestic needs before travel. As such no
excuses will be entertained on assumption of duty relating to default. Employee (Expatriate) is to
note that 2 MONTHS UPFRONT SALARY is to be paid as soon as we see evidence that the
employee have Processed and Procured the relevant Affidavit of Guarantee and Letter of
Attestation from the Accredited Attorney and submit same to the company for Verification.
Employee is strongly advised to keep original receipts of expenses and evidence of payment(s)
made before arrival in Ghana as reimbursement applications made without receipt or evidence of
payment/expenses shall be denied. All payment of Salary after assumption of duty in GHANA
shall be 75% paid into an offshore account to be provided by employee with the remaining 25%
paid locally in GHANA. This is in line with the GHANA Expatriate Financial Statutory Laws.
FEEDING & ACCOMODATION:
All Employees are expected to reside at the Companys Staff estate. There are Single Bed-room
and Flat options for Employees to choose from. Employees are entitled to take meals free of
charge at the General Staff canteens. Dietary options, Customized cooks and Dieticians are
available options.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Employment Terms: I understand that I may voluntarily terminate my employment. I further
understand that I will not be terminated involuntarily at will, rather it will be with cause or prior
notice, at any time, regarding of documents or oral or written statements issued by the GHANA
NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION or its representative. Any employee company feels
that his/her services are no longer needed, shall be paid a disengagement allowance equivalent to
the annual salary of the employee. Notice period in case of leaving the job is one Month and it
shall be communicated to the Management through writing.
Orientation Program: Candidates are advise to arrive a week before job commencement date in
order to attend the orientation seminar. Note that there will not be further interview as your
appointment is basically on the information which you have provided on your resume you earlier
on forwarded to us before screening. There will be a routine check of your credentials on arrival
by the Human Resources Department to confirm validity.
Job Description: Your job profile will be duly stated on your compulsory two weeks orientation
training/program which will equip you with the basic knowledge of the project at hand and
familiarize you with the equipments at your disposal.
EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:
Five Bedroom Flat Duplex, 30 Days Leave / break/ Vacation after every 90 working days, Flight
Fares (Air Tickets), Free Education Scheme for expatriates children/family, Complete meals also
for you and your family as deemed Appropriate, Access to some of the finest social and
recreational facilities and Personal effects shipment and excess baggage allowances, Monthly
Spouse allowance of $2,500 USD. Employer will provide the employee with comprehensive
Health care for the term of contract, and follow-on care for injuries suffered during the term of
contract for employee and family.
Computer resources: Laptop Computer, 1.6 GHz Processor, 256 MB RAM, 24XCD-RW, 30GB Hard
Drive, Floppy Drive, Integrated Network Adapter, Internal 56K Modem, Spare Battery and
Necessary Software. Full time Internet access is also made available.
Phones: Employer will provide each employee with one (1) landline and one (1) Smart phone.
This shall have a reasonable credit limit application per month.
Cars: Employer will provide an official Car, TOYOTA COROLLA 2014 for Senior/Chief Staffs.
Also there shall always be a standby Air Conditioned Coaster Bus to transport ordinary staffs
from the Companys Estate to work Metropolis.
Performance Bonuses: Up to five percent of your annual net salary, paid quarterly by your choice
of cheque or direct deposit.
SAFETY & SECURITY:
Safety and Security of personnel (Local/Foreign) and Facilities on Job Locations and communities
are no small issues, and have been seriously considered to ensure and assure hitch free
operations.
All operations on Job Location are designed to adhere strictly to the Health, Safety and
Environment (HSE) Policy as applicable in the Oil and Gas Sector.
All expatriates are entitled to a free and mandatory safety courses on Job Locations to be
delivered by qualified safety and environment experts.
All safety wears shall be provided by the Company at Job Locations such like Safety Coveralls,
Gloves, Goggles, Helmet and Safety Shoes etc. as applicable in the Oil & Gas Sector.
TELECOMMUNICATION/INTERNET FACILITY:
There are standard Telecommunication Facilities and Internet services at the disposal of all
expatriates, and same shall be accessible to all Personnel (Local/Foreign) without any charge or
expenses to be incurred.
Cellular Phones can be obtained by expatriates from the Local dealers/Service Providers in Work
Metropolis but must be used in accordance with the safety regulations on Job Locations.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES:
Recreational/Sports Facilities shall also be made available at the disposal of all expatriates with
no expenses to be incurred. Laundry and Dry Cleaning Service will also be made available to all
Expatriates by the companys laundry and dry cleaning unit.
JOB LOCATION: Accra, Ghana.
CONTRACT DURATION/PERIOD: 48Months (4 Years).

RESUME/START UP DATE: You are expected to resume on site latest 12
th
December, 2014.
The management reserves the right to extend this period if necessary.
Herein, you have been forwarded employers prototype of contract terms and conditions via e-
mail (Attachment) for your perusal and digest. On your satisfaction and agreement with the terms
and conditions of your appointment, you shall be expected to start processing of your job. After
processing, hard copy of the contract document shall be sent to you for your kind endorsement.
Agreements will also be signed during the job processes.
JOINING US:
Visa: All International Applicants should note that GHANA NATIONAL PETROLEUM
CORPORATION shall duly secure their Visa from the MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND
REGIONAL INTEGRATION here in GHANA for every applicant coming from outside GHANA.
Work Permit: On your arrival, GHANA NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION, shall
secure your work permit papers from the MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND REGIONAL
INTEGRATION here in GHANA which will enable you to live and work legally here in
GHANA.
Flight Ticket: Your flight ticket shall also be sent to you, a week before your departure. You are to
provide a working and valid postal address where your ticket shall be delivered through a courier
service agent, inclusive of the Hardcopy of your Offer Letter and Certificate of Employment.
Reimbursement: You are to bear the cost of processing your Affidavit of Guarantee and Letter of
Attestation from the Accredited Attorney and GHANA NATIONAL PETROLEUM
CORPORATION will duly reimburse you of all the expenses you incurred only on sight of your
valid legalized documents to show seriousness in joining the team. The First two months upfront
salaries shall be paid in advance before consultants/employee embark on journey to assume duty
to enable you take care of pressing needs at your home country.
EMPLOYEE EXPENSES:
EMPLOYEE/EXPATRIATE SHALL BE EXPECTED TO PERSONALLY INCUR ONLY THE
AFFIDAVIT OF GUARANTEE AND LETTER OF ATTESTATION REQUIREMENTS.
Expenses made/incurred by the employee related to job before commencement of duties or
Expenses made during travel Plans, Processing of Affidavit of Guarantee and Letter of
Attestation etc will be substantiated with receipts and Employer will reimburse the Employee not
later than Five (5) working days after submission of Employees expense Report and Receipts as
proofs of such Expenses. Employer however, agrees to reimburse fully all Affidavit of Guarantee
and Letter of Attestation costs and Expenses made by Employee.
On no account will Employer accept to shoulder costs for Affidavit of Guarantee and Letter of
Attestation before Work sign-on. This is to possibly evade losses that may be accrued to
Employer should Employee decide to decline Job Offer after certain Expenses must have been
made by Employer. The agreement hereby binds Employer and Employee in that
reimbursement will be made fully to Employees upon presentation of Expense Reports and
Receipts of Expenses.
VISA INFORMATION:
Due to the high rise of contract break up in Ghana, the management has made it mandatory that
every prospective employee who wishes to work with us must first procure an Affidavit of
Guarantee and Letter of Attestation from the Ghana High Court of Justice stating that he / she
will honor the terms of contract therein till the end of its duration before the management can go
ahead and secure the Visa and Working/ Residence permit of the successful applicant. This is
coming as a result of high rise in the number of employees that decamp their duty post and end
their contract without prior notice of us. Procurement of this affidavit will further highlight you
have accepted to honor the contract till its expiration. This Affidavit is obtainable only at the
Ghanaian High Court of Justice through an accredited attorney representing the applicant
(Employee). See below one of the accredited Attorney whom you need to contact via email to
secure the Affidavit of Guarantee and Letter of Attestation from Ghanaian High Court of Justice:

Once you obtain the Affidavit of Guarantee and Letter of Attestation from the Ghanaian High
Court of Justice, you are required to send to us via e-mail scanned copies of the following
documents which will aid us procure your Visa and Working/Residence permit:

1. Scan copy of your Affidavit of Guarantee and Letter of Attestation
2. Scan copy of your duly signed Appointment Letter
3. Scanned Copy of your International Passport (Data Page)
4. Scanned Copy of your Passport Photograph (Colored)

Upon receipt of the above mentioned documents from your side GHANA NATIONAL
PETROLEUM CORPORATION will secure your Visa and Working/Residence permit here in
GHANA and will contact OUR Consulate in your country and fax all your documents to them to
facilitate your visa.

Within a space of 7 working days your papers were faxed to the consulate, we shall notify you on
when to go to the Consulate Office in your country for the endorsement of your international
passport with your two years Visa permit.

NOTE: You are to process your Affidavit of Guarantee and Letter of Attestation from the
Accredited Attorney and GHANA NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION will start the
processing of your traveling documents only on sight of your valid legalized documents to show
seriousness in joining the team.

materials for signing and collection of hard copy of their Appointment/Contract Documents.
