The three waves in which it is developed:
1st Wave - Mainframe computing era: one computer shared by many people

2nd Wave - Personal computing era: one computer used by one person

3rd Wave - Pervasive (initially called ubiquitous) computing era: one person, many
computers.

The term refers to the increasing integration of ICT into people‟s lives and environments

It is possible by the microprocessors with inbuilt communication facilities.

Ubiquitous computing is a post-desktop model of human-computer interaction

We are heading toward a reality that plays like a scene from Star Trek. Pervasive computing
provides an attractive vision for the future of computing.

Well, we no longer will be sitting down in front of a PC to get access to information,

instead we use wireless media to access those things.

As a machine its work is to fulfill the Man‟s need, but Pervasive Computing technology
fulfills His need as a friend naturally.
