Important information
HAKIs product liability and erection instructions apply only to scaffolds that are
entirely composed of components that have been made and supplied by HAKI.
HAKIs type examination certificate applies only to scaffolds whose materials,
dimensions and design accord with those specified in the documentation upon
which this certificate is based.
HAKIs scaffold systems must not be erected using components of makes other
than HAKI or be connected to scaffolds of makes other than HAKI. In such cases,
a special study of load-bearing capacity must be carried out. However, HAKI has
no objection to the customary addition of scaffold tubes and approved couplers
to the scaffold.
Adding components from different suppliers may invalidate the insurance cover.
For scaffold structures that are not covered by these erection instructions, please
contact HAKIs technical department.
HAKI reserves the right to make technical improvements on a continual basis.

HAKI BLOCK BRACKET
Working area
Working area
The HAKI Block Bracket should always
be laced with the beam or guard rail.
This applies to both the upper and
lower fitting.
Alternatively the standard can be laced
with scaffold tubes.
NB! The HAKI Block Bracket should
NEVER be fitted to a freestanding top of
a standard.
Remember that
Work should cease on the scaffolding
when a load is to be hoisted.
Never stand or work under a load
when it is being hoisted.

Be sure that no people, animals or goods are under the hanging load.
Dont carry a load greater than 30 kg per operator.
Change the rope if damaged.
8
HAKI SECURE PULLEY BLOCK
The Secure Pulley block has been created to improve
both the working conditions and safety during the erection of
scaffolding.
The pulley block can be used as a normal pulley, for
example:
- the load can be hoisted
- the load can be lowered
- the rope can be lowered without the load
The working conditions are improved thanks to the self-
braking system, the only system that has the mechanical
release.
This provides workers with the opportunity to stop the
hoisting or lowering of the load in the event of illness or
during breaks.
This system stops the load at all heights. So there is no risk of
the load falling.
How to choose the rope
We recommend rope Item No. 2600280.
How to insert the rope
The rope is inserted between the running roller and the
pulley. The rope must enter the side including the biggest
roller. By raising the running rollers, the block tongue will be
raised so the rope can pass through the throat of the pulley
until it comes out the other side. The rope must pass inside
the smallest running roller. The part of the rope that comes
out must be used to lift the load.
The pulley must be fastened to a vertical standard on the
scaffolding. The pulley is set on its stand by fitting the fixing
clamp to the free side of the standard so the pulley is secure
and there is no possibility of it moving.
WARNING!
If the pulley is not fitted in an upright position, the safety
brake may not work. It is strictly forbidden to hang the
pulley on a hook or other fittings so that the pulley is not
upright.

HAKI SECURE PULLEY BLOCK
Exert a force on the other side. This allows the lateral
movement and lifting of the guide rollers of the rope to
internal compound lever, the raising of the block tongue and
the opening of the brake.
The rope is then freed and the load can be hoisted or
lowered. When there is no load, the rope can go up or down
by pulling the little rope between the two running rollers so
that the brake is isolated and the rope runs freely.
Safety brake
If there is no force on the rope, the block system
automatically stops the rope with its load.

When the load is being lowered, the speed should
be controlled and if necessary reduced.
The load should never be lowered too quickly. More time and
space will be needed to stop it.
The rope or the load can be damaged resulting in personal
injury.
Preliminary Checks
Before starting work some important checks should be carried out such as:
ensure the FIXING CLAMP is securely fixed to the vertical standard
ensure that the pulley can rotate freely around the fixing clamps
ensure that the ropes guide rollers can rotate freely
ensure that the rocker arm can move freely
ensure that the rope can move freely
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Operation
The rope carries the load from the same side as the smallest roller.
If the wrong side is used, the brake will not work.
RELEASE
Place to work
The pulley can be used in three places:
1) on the ground
a. you can lift the load by pulling the rope
b. you can lower the load pulling the rope to release the block and then letting
the rope go slowly
2) at the top
a. you can put the load on to the scaffolding, and
b. you can send the unloaded rope down, like an ordinary pulley:
all that is needed is to pull the little rope between the rollers to release the brake.
3) on an intermediate floor
a. the load can be put on to the scaffolding, and
b. the unloaded rope can be lowered:
both the ropes have to be pulled to release the brake.

MAINTENANCE
Service and maintenance instructions
Good maintenance of the pulley is essential to guarantee the safety and long working life of
the machine.
The pulley block does not require any special maintenance apart from cleaning.
Sometimes parts must be changed in case they are damaged. We recommend you follow
these important rules:
1) clean the pulley by removing dust and other particles with an air jet, or if necessary with a
brush. If foreign bodies are removed, the pulley may be damaged.
2) put the pulley block in a dry place away from dust and other contaminants
3) damaged parts should only be replaced with authorized parts
4) do not modify the unit for any reason
5) all repairs and changes should be carried out by HAKI AB or an authorized dealer
CAUTION
If the pulley is blocked, the load must be unfastened before doing anything else.
GUARANTEE
The pulley block carries a one-year guarantee from the date of purchase.
Guarantee questions cannot be considered unless proof of purchase is provided.
Repairs under guarantee carried out by HAKI AB or authorized service agents are free of
charge.
The guarantee covers all the production or assembly faults. The guarantee does not include
faults caused by:
1) incorrect usage or storage
2) non-observance of directions for use
3) wear and tear
HAKI AB will update this manual to cover technological improvements and changes in the
law.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
HAKI AB as manufacturer declines any responsibility due to:
the equipment being improperly used
total or partial non-observance of recommendations made in this manual
repairs or changes using unauthorized parts
the use of unauthorized materials
force majeure
