Finned tube duct heaters are most suitable for comfort heating as it provides dampened rate of heating
and cooling, which contributes to more natural and accurate temperature control. Electrical and fire hazard
is also reduced as it is properly insulated. They are more robust, requires little maintenance, and easier to
service.

The duct heater unit is manufactured according to customer duct size, heating capacity, phase, voltage,
and control strategy. Control elements are protected by an enclosure

Heating elements are made from nickel chromium wires insulated with packed refractory material in round
stainless steel tubes. Fins are continuosly wound to ensure robustness and good heat transfer.

Safety controls

Primary over temperature protection is by a sturdy stem type auto reset thermal cutout, secondary over
temperature protection is by a stem type manual reset thermal cutout. DPS (Diffential Pressure Switch) to
verify air flow to allow heater to switch on is optional. All units come with overcurrent protection and
isolator.

Wiring

An individual wiring diagram is provided for each terminal

Plastic (polyamide) plastic threaded cable glands are used to ensure cables are securely fastened, and
strain free at the connection terminals.

Weidmuller earth terminals are mounted on DIN rails to ensure secure earthing. High temperature, leaf
spring protected screw on terminals are used to ensure fast and secure connection.

Mechanical contactors, SSR and other components are mounted onto the DIN rails for secure installation
and easy servicing

Quality Commoning Block is used common several cables.

Construction

The Breadth (B) and Height (H) is made to suit the customer requirement.
40mm flange is provided.

The unit is suitably braced internally for large sizes.

Case sheet steel thickness is 1.2mm

Cladding cover (optional) and Controls enclosure sheet steel thickness is 0.7mm,

Heating element covers minimum 70% of duct Breadth, where uncovered area is installed with
50% free area perforated sheet steel, to provide for more uniform air flow across the heating
elements

Materials

All construction from galvanized sheet steel.

Construction from stainless steel is available upon request.

Total pressure sensor tube from aluminium (optional item), used with DPS (Differential Pressure
Switch) which is used to verify air flow in duct to permit heater to switch on.

Stainless steel tube finned heating elements are used.
