January Bible Conference

reservation for the Jan 15 & 16 Bible Conference. Parents may
purchase their childcare reservation tickets January 2 through
Jan 10 before, during, and after all church events at the
preschool kiosk in the education building.

This marks the last week
of the staff ministry of
Dr. Roy Fisher and his
wonderful wife, Yvonne.
As Roy retires after 8
years of faithful service
as our Associate Pastor
in Pastoral Care, we say
a huge “thanks” and “we
love you.” They will remain in our church as
treasured friends and be free to spend more
time with their children and grandchildren.
Roy is also looking forward to preaching
in various churches and serving in interim
pastor capacities.
Roy came to us at a crucial time when we
needed to expand our senior adult ministry
and have a seasoned pastor who was loyal
to me, godly in character, wise in conduct,
and loving in heart. Roy has overseen our
seniors, the prayer ministry, hospital and
crisis ministry, and many other duties. He
has preached, taught classes, won souls,
and brought joy everywhere he goes.
Yvonne developed the “Apples of Gold”
and “Anna’s Tea” ministry and discipled
women. She is an ideal helper and partner
in ministry and shining example to all of
our women.

and Yvonne, folks who truly understood
my passion for the Spirit-filled life and
the sufficiency of Christ living His life
through us. His delightful British accent
has brought dignity and polish into every
conversation. His wit has enlivened many a
conversation. Someday in Heaven you will
hear that Christian song from those who
were touched by you, “I am a life that was
changed.”
The Pastoral Care administrative assistant,
Vada Ehling, will continue to serve as a
contact person. Please notify her office here
at the church if you are to enter the hospital
or have a crises or death in your family or
know of a death in our church family.
Our great pastoral staff will be sharing Roy’s
duties, with weekly rotation of hospital and
crisis responsibilities. Be patient with us.
We are not planning at this time to fill Roy’s
position. You will see in First Word weekly
who will be on call.

I knew about Roy years ago through a

mutual friend in Arizona. We were Mrs.
Pilkenton’s favorite “young preachers.” She
always wanted us to meet, but it never
happened until after her death and when
their daughter, Rachel, became active

Guest Reception
There is a guest reception in the Commons immediately following the
Saturday night and the 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning service. Come and meet
Dr. Wicker.
Our goal is $100,000.
2009 Tax Information
To ensure your contributions qualify for 2009, checks must be
delivered or mailed (post-marked) on or before December 31, 2009.
Checks placed in the church offering in 2010 will not qualify for
2009, even if the check is pre-dated to 2009. For your convenience,
the church finance office will be open Thursday, December 31,
2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Please do not file your 2009
tax return until you have received your 2009 contribution statement
from the church.

2009 Stock Contributions

Stock contributions in certificate form must be received in the
finance office no later than noon on December 30, 2009. Stock
contributions in transfer form must be received into the church’s
account no later than December 30, 2009. Please contact Conard
Wrightsman at 596-8600 x257 for more information.

Perspective Deacons for 2010

These men have been nominated to serve as Deacons beginning
January 2010. The church will vote on January 2 and 3, 2010 to
affirm these men to be ordained on January 17th. Thank you for
