TM
Vision is structured for logical
TM
operating procedures. Vision has a
modular design. The individual tasks are
handled by special program modules called
managers, and communication is on the
client-server principle.
According to performance requirements,
TM
Vision can run on one computer or the
individual managers can be distributed
across several computers.
The true client-server architecture combined
with the use of separate functional units - the
TM
managers - means that Vision can
grow in line with requirements. Single
workstations can be added with nominal
effort, while enlarging to a redundant or
distributed system takes a matter of moments
usually with no need to shut down the system.
TM
Vision can even run on different
operating systems. The heart of the system is
the Event Manager (EV) which controls
process visualization and distributes
messages to the other managers. Tasks are
handled where it makes sense. Comparisons
of old and new data are performed in the
drivers (D), as is data filtering and scaling. This
ensures that only relevant data point changes
enter the system, resulting in faster system
response.
Archiving and analysis functions are
performed in the database manager (DM).
And only those datapoints visualized in the
current process display are forwarded to the
user interface (UI). Thus communication is
reduced to the essential.
The Control Manager (CTRL) can be used to
TM
add special algorithms to Vision at the
datapoint level for implementing control and
monitoring functions. The Application
Program Interface (API) ensures that the
TM
powerful functionality of Vision can be
further enhanced with special functions
developed as add on module. The defined
interfaces guarantee compatibility even with
future versions.
TM
Vision structures its user interface as
a number of task-specific modules. In most
cases the components have been created
using the software's own graphics editor.
There is no technical distinction between
process displays, symbols, data input screens
or parameterization windows. Everything is
based on a universal concept, whose powerful
capabilities and openness can be applied to
simplify numerous tasks.

Drivers (D): the interface between iVision and peripheral devices
max
(PLCs, DDCs, telecontrol systems).
User interface layer
User interface Manager (UI): visualizes process states and handles
user inputs.
Processing layer
Control (Ctrl): an event-driven multi-tasking programming language
TM
specific to iVision capable of processing several function blocks at
max
once. It is used for creating complex control functions, performing
testing and simulation tasks.
Application Program Interface (API): for interfacing external programs.
Existing software packages can be integrated using class libraries.
Dedicated managers developed are used for implementing industry-
specific packages.
Communication and storage layer
Event manager (EV): this forms the center of the system, receiving
messages, evaluating and distributing them.
Database Manage (DM): saves process changes in a high-speed
database, archives data and generates analyses and reports.

Vision platform resulting in cost & time
reduction for training , maintenance and
operation.
To ensure maximum degree of compatibility,
there are numerous options available for
quick and efficient engineering. There are
large number of drivers available for the field
level, for PLCs, telecontrol systems, or DDCs
so that any make of base automation system
can be chosen.
Alerts and events can be reported directly over
the telephone, providing detailed information.
The integral voice synthesis facility means
that there is no need to prerecord texts - this is
already included in the event-handling
parameterization, delivering enormous
savings in configuration and maintenance.
SMS messages on standard mobiles, e-mails
or faxes, the information reaches its
TM
destination with Vision .
TM
Vision can be fully integrated in
modern network structures, Intranet systems,
and the Internet.
TM
The Vision HTTP server operates as a
full Web server, and it can run scripts written
using the integrated Control development
environment. There is even a WAP interface
TM
for Vision for keeping in touch with the
process on the move. Alert statistics, alerts,
readings, and diagnostic data can all be
displayed conveniently on a GSM mobile
phone.
TM
Using the Vision Report Generator,
reports can also be produced in HTML format
at defined times. For a shorter recipient list
there is always email for immediate or
automatic distribution of reports.

Datapoint type definition based on process objects
Definition of graphical display (graphics, animation, control windows, trends etc.)
Creation of the graphical user interface (process displays): generation of instances (either directly by inserting
objects/symbols or by batch parameterization in the data model by importing datapoint lists, e.g. via Excel)
Writing special functions (optimization algorithms, group alerts, sequencing logic, locks etc.)
Subsequent changes possible online: changes to graphics, animations, operation etc. only need to be made to the type
- all process displays and dialog boxes are automatically updated.
