1. Repeatedly.-If you do something repeatedly, you do it many times.
2. Lend.-When people or organizations such as banks lend you money, they give it to you
and you agree to pay it back at a future date, often with an extra amount as interest.
3. Shift.-If you shift something or if it shifts, it moves slightly.
4. Stroll.-If you stroll somewhere, you walk there in a slow, relaxed way.
5. Sudden.-means happening quickly and unexpectedly.
6. To bestow something on someone.-means to give or present it to them.
7. Wildly.-You use wildly to emphasize the degree, amount, or intensity of something.
8. Raise.-If you raise something, you move it so that it is in a higher position.
9. Claim.-A claim is something which someone says which they cannot prove and which
may be false.
10. Blunt.-If you are blunt, you say exactly what you think without trying to be polite.
11. Heed.-If you heed someone's advice or warning, you pay attention to it and do what
they suggest.
12. Doubt.-If you doubt whether something is true or possible, you believe that it is
probably not true or possible.
13. Bulk.-You can refer to something's bulk when you want to emphasize that it is very
large.
14. Foreign.-Something or someone that is foreign comes from or relates to a country that
is not your own.
15. Leaflet.-A leaflet is a little book or a piece of paper containing information about a
particular subject.
16. Rebuff.- If you rebuff someone or rebuff a suggestion that they make, you refuse to do
what they suggest.
17. Shame.- Shame is an uncomfortable feeling that you get when you have done
something wrong or embarrassing, or when someone close to you has.
18. Tide.- The tide is the regular change in the level of the sea on the shore.
19. Spill.- If a liquid spills or if you spill it, it accidentally flows over the edge of a container.
20. Lining.- You can use lining to refer to a layer of paper, plastic, metal, or another
substance that is attached to the inside of something
21. Desire.- A desire is a strong wish to do or have something
22. Bottom.- The bottom of something is the lowest or deepest part of it.
23. Relegate.- If you relegate someone or something to a less important position, you give
them this position.
24. Shake.- If you shake something, you hold it and move it quickly backwards and
forwards or up and down.
25. Rattle.- When something rattles or when you rattle it, it makes short sharp knocking
sounds because it is being shaken or it keeps hitting against something hard.
26. Crack.- If something hard cracks, or if you crack it, it becomes slightly damaged, with
lines appearing on its surface.
27. Pattern.- A pattern is the repeated or regular way in which something happens or is
done.
28. Ceiling.- A ceiling is the horizontal surface that forms the top part or roof inside a
room.
29. Whether.- ou use whether when you are talking about a choice or doubt between two
or more alternatives.
30. Sinking.- If you have a sinking feeling, you suddenly become depressed or lose hope
31. Helter-skelter.- You use helter-skelter to describe something that is hurried and
disorganized, especially when things happen very quickly, one after the other.
32. Shelter.- A shelter is a small building or covered place which is made to protect people
from bad weather or danger.
33. Tap.- If you tap something, you hit it with a quick light blow or a series of quick light
blows.
34. Cheetah.- A cheetah is a wild animal that looks like a large cat with black spots on its
body. Cheetahs can run very fast.
35. Slip.- If you slip, you accidentally slide and lose your balance.
36. Underneath.- If one thing is underneath another, it is directly under it, and may be
covered or hidden by it.
37. Escapologist.- An escapologist is someone who entertains audiences by being tied up
and placed in a dangerous situation, then escaping from it.
38. Risk.- If there is a riskof something unpleasant, there is a possibility that it will happen.
39. Miffed.- If you are miffed, you are slightly annoyed and hurt because of something
which someone has said or done to you.
40. Blind.- Someone who is blind is unable to see because their eyes are damaged.
41. Enrage.- If you are enraged by something, it makes you extremely angry.
42. Dull.- If you describe someone or something as dull, you mean they are not interesting
or exciting.,
43. Lead.- If you lead a group of people, you walk or ride in front of them.
44. Slag.- Slag is used by some people to refer to a woman who they disapprove of
because they think she is sexually immoral.
45. Rascal.- If you call a man or child a rascal, you mean that they behave badly and are
rude or dishonest.
46. Daft.- If you describe a person or their behaviour as daft, you think that they are stupid,
impractical, or rather strange.
47. Shy.- A shy person is nervous and uncomfortable in the company of other people
48. Frighten.- If something or someone frightens you, they cause you to suddenly feel
afraid, anxious, or nervous.
49. Auction.- An auction is a public sale where goods are sold to the person who offers the
highest price.
50. Slack.- Something that is slack is loose and not firmly stretched or tightly in position.
