we have studied in our course was all that same which we have to apply practically. All the
qualities in a good project and knowledge about interpersonal skills will prove to be very
essential in our practical life as well in future. We are also thankful to our parents that due to
their prayers we have succeeded in completing our final term project. We are personally
thankful to the friends that had helped us in fact co-operated with us also our respected
teachers who gave us guidelines for making the reports and allowed us to work in a different

Work Break down Structure
Work breakdown structures (WBS) are mostly used to define and breakdown all of the work
of the project into logical alliances and also divide all project work into small parts. Work
that is not included on the WBS is not considered work of the project. Therefore, all project
work must be represented on the WBS.
A WBS is constructed in hierarchical form, much like an organizational chart, with the
project itself at the top. Each level of the WBS represents a further breakdown of the work of
the project. For example, in our project, level one is the project itself, level two might contain
all the deliverables for the project, level three is a further breakdown of those deliverables
and level four is the actual task or activity to be performed in order to complete the
deliverable in the project.
The first step in developing a WBS is to identify all the project deliverables. In our project
which are listed in the Scope Statement above so we wont have far to look. Next, begin
breaking the deliverables down into smaller deliverables as shown in our project WBS below
and finally into tasks. You know youre done when youve identified all the tasks it will take
to complete the deliverable.
Dont try to go it alone when creating your WBS, enlist the help of the project team. Use
brainstorming methods to help identify all the tasks needed for each deliverable. One person
cannot think of all the tasks needed for a project, except for the smallest of projects, so
involve your project team in the identification process. List the deliverables on a white
board, one by one, and identify all tasks for each of the deliverables until no one can think of
anything more.

Project Network Diagram:
PND is part of project activities and scheduling. It plays very important role in your any
project. Project network diagram are the preferred technique for showing activity sequencing.
A project network diagram is a graphical display and view of the logical relationship among
the all actives of project. There are two diagrams which is used in PND
1- Activity on Arrow (AOA)
2- Critical Path method
Activity on Arrow (AOA):
It is also called Arrow Diagraming Method (ADM) project network diagrams
Under this method all the Activities of our project are represented by arrows
In this method nodes or circles are the starting and ending points of activities
It can only show finish-to-start dependencies

P a g e | 15

AOA of our Project:

Interpretation:
On the above diagram the starting point of our project in mention on O. after defining the
starting point of project we have mention the each and every activity of our new school
building construction project. We have given name for each activity from A to J. we also
mention the days of each activity that how many days have consumed by one activity. Under
this diagram we have mention with help of arrow. On the above diagram the ending point of
project is J which has spent 10 days.
2-Critical Path Method:
CPM is a project network analysis technique used to predict total project duration. A critical
path for a project is the series of activities that determines the earliest time by which the
project can be completed. The critical path is the longest path through the network diagram
and has the least amount of slack or float time of your project
Critical path of our project:

P a g e | 16

The critical path method is the largest path of activities. In our project we have the
following critical activities.
CEFGHIJ
Critical path is shown in network diagram.
Project Cost Management:
Types of cost:
Variable Costs
The variable cost is that cost which is Change with the amount of production/work in the
project like material cost, supplies, wages
Fixed Costs
Fixed cost is that cost which does not change as production change it is opposite of variable
cost like set-up, rental cost
Direct Costs
Direct is that cost which is directly associated to the work of project likee team travel,
recognition, team wages
Indirect Costs
Indirect cost is that cost which is overhead or cost incurred for benefit of more than one
project like taxes, fringe benefit, janitorial services

Project Risk Management:
Project risk:
Project risk is an uncertain event or condition that occurs during the project, risk has a
positive or a negative effect on a project objective.
Risk management should be a systematic process to identify, analyze, treat and monitor all
possible risks. There are many different descriptions of risk. This systematic process, but
they all have these fundamental steps:
Identify
Analyze/Assess
Plan
Track & control
Risk Statement of our project:
We are project manager at our company. We are going to do a project of construction of new
school building in Iqbal Town Lahore. As we know about that we will face different kind of
potential risk regarding this project. Our company has some legal obligation towards our
employees, assets and the citizen from there where we are going to start our project. We need
to ensure that risk management plays a vital role in our project activities. So we need to
perform certain activity to overcome these risks. Our jobs should provide the safety of work
place to our employee and we also have the ability to control risks.
When we are going to execute our project we shall face so many risks just like political
instability, labor shortage, financial risk, human life risk, health issues and so on that may
cause of some uncertain set of circumstances. We need to use different kind of techniques to
control risks just like to ensure that which risks are acceptable and which are not acceptable.
In our project these decisions can be fulfill by the participation of whole management team
because each and every person is responsible to reporting any unusual and unsafe activity
they see during the project.
We need to use as project manager(Faheem Azhar) all those best practices in risk
management that can improve the activities in all areas of the project. A project manager
needs to use a structured management program to overcome the risks. He will strive to
continually improve the risk management practices in case of any risks occurrence.
P a g e | 19

After using different methods in our project for risk management, we can achieve our project
goal without interference of risk because we have control these risks.
